Elias starts Friday, with Porcello pushed back to Sat. Elias in rotation isn't necessarily permanent but Sox like match-up this time

Elias will start for Sox on Friday vs Mariners. Farrell said decision was in no small part matchup based. (Sea has hammered RHPs.)
I'm confused - rotation was going to be Porcello, Wright, Price. Who are they bumping? SEA has hammered RHPs, so it can't be Price. But Wright has been by far the best starter on this team, so they couldn't possibly reduce the number of starts they're trying to give him.Worth noting that the start on Friday might not lead to more starts regardless of his performance...

They're not bumping anyone, they're just pushing everyone back a day so no one is going on short rest. Elias on Friday, Porcello on Saturday (5 days rest), Price on Sunday (4 days rest), Wright on Monday (4 days rest). They chose Elias to make the start because they want two LHP to start against the Mariners.I'm confused - rotation was going to be Porcello, Wright, Price. Who are they bumping? Wright is pitching tomorrow. They needed another starter by Saturday.I'm confused - rotation was going to be Porcello, Wright, Price. Who are they bumping? Nice.Cano and Seager have significant platoon splits, and the Mariners as a team are built for power to RF. This seems as a good a time as any to start Ruinous Elias.
Ruinous!!! Oh man that's great! You should be making cartoons for the NYer!Cano and Seager have significant platoon splits, and the Mariners as a team are built for power to RF. This seems as a good a time as any to start Ruinous Elias.
Yes, but they could have kept Porcello on regular rest and still had two LHP starting against the Mariners. Elias' last start was Friday, so maybe minimizing his rest and giving Porcello an extra day are both factors in the decision. They're not bumping anyone, they're just pushing everyone back a day so no one is going on short rest. I didn't see the game but the box score says he didn't have a good game. What was the SoSH assessment of his performance?I expect Roenis back to AAA tomorrow unless he has an outstanding performance tonight.
He was already on his third round at Murphy's Law back in Pawtucket when the post game highlights came on the teevee over the bar.I didn't see the game but the box score says he didn't have a good game. What was the SoSH assessment of his performance?
I thought he was honestly OK and Gutierrez just had a career gameI didn't see the game but the box score says he didn't have a good game. What was the SoSH assessment of his performance?
