Over/under on "deflated balls" jokes?
I mean, gotta be at least 50. It's the single most obvious angle.

Those will get old, but I'd probably watch just for the non-deflation-related content. He's given us so much to work with over the years, there's no shortage.

My GF and I are going out to California to see this live. I mean, not specifically to see this - Netflix is a Joke Fest is happening and she wants to see a lot out there, but we're also going to this. Should be fun.

I think the botox jokes will rule the day. Should still be a lot of fun.

Will Foster Brooks be a roaster?
Other than Jeff Ross and Kevin Hart, what are early guesses for roasters? Gronk? Edelman? Peyton Manning? Would BB give it a go?

EDIT: Aw, jeez, I'm thinking it'd better not be that effin' Travis Kelce. So sick of that guy.

I'm guessing Bill Burr will be part of it given his relationship with Netflix, Boston, and just because he's very funny. We definitely get one or both of Damon and Affleck. Peyton for sure since he is great in these settings. I hope they don't have Derek Jeter there. Marky Mark will probably wait to see how it's going before deciding whether to participate, or pretend his kids are sick so he can leave early like he did at SB LI.

I also assume we will get some Alex Guerrero creepy massage jokes that tie into a Hand Job Bob zinger, but maybe that's too edgy for Tom.

Yeah, Burr, Damon, and Affleck are good calls. Jeter has the personality of a ham sandwich, so I can't imagine that he's been asked -- seems like a real long shot anyway.

Hoping for Tara Reid.
Steve Hutchinson probably has some stories (as a C for a QB) but not sure he’s famous enough.
Want some before he hit it big stories basically.

But certainly at least one ofGronk/Jules and at least one of Affeck/Damon will be there.

I am not a Kevin Hart fan though.

If it's only one, I'd take Jules over Gronk. Gronk's over the top stuff usually isn't that funny. Maybe with a one off, but a couple minutes? Eh.

I can see Edelman dropping a story like Pedroia did on Big Papi's roast.

Off-topic, but the Edelman-Pedroia comparison seems spot on in many ways. I mean, if there was one recent vintage Red Sox player you'd expect to make the catch Edelman made against the Falcons, it would be Pedroia

People who put roasts together love to invite one really old lady, so expect someone from 80 For Brady. Seth McFarlane will probably show up due to the Ted 2 cameo.

It's hard to tell as Netflix Roasts have been noticeably different than the Comedy Central ones we're used to - or at least the Jonas Brothers one was. But that might have been unique, this one has Jeff Ross running it who was hugely responsible for the Comedy Central experience and has pretty much every major comedian in America at their disposal in L.A. Burr not being there would be such a bad surprise - he's doing Netflix is a Joke two days prior and is the perfect comedic connection.

I'll watch it, but I'll regret it. TB12 is the GOAT and probably responsible for the most sports joy in my life (Pedro is close). But dude is not funny. And Patriots jokes told for the lowest common denominator doesn't seem like a good time - it seems like re-living the worst part of the Brady era (non-Hernandez division). I'd lose it if BB or Bledsoe showed up, though.

The person being roasted needn't be funny. He's the target, not the marksman.

Maybe one or more of Tom's co-stars from "80 for Brady"? (Moreno/Fonda/Field/Tomlin)

NYPost had this to say: "Sarah Silverman, Nikki Glaser and Anthony Jeselnik are just a few of the comedians we expect on the dais based on Netflix is a Joke’s roster."

But I have no idea what that means. Netflix is a Joke is a festival that spans from May 1-12, features many dozens of events at different venues, and includes just about every comedian you can imagine. Not sure what got them pumped up on those 3 other than the fact that they've all done Comedy Central roasts in the past.

As far as I know, only Hart and Ross are confirmed so far.

I think roasts are generally tiresome and unfunny and will likely just watch the 5 minute cut up of the best bits afterwards, but I think this is good for Tom's image as a guy being able to laugh at himself and with Jeff Ross in charge it guarantees at least it likely won't have many pulled punches. And I know it's SoSH, but come on, we can't still be hurting over deflation jokes in 2024, year of our lord.

I think the Post is just guessing off of Comedy Central's roasts and people who will be at Netflix is a Joke Fest. To your point, most major comedians will be in the area for this and all you can really rule is are people who otherwise have gigs that night. I think Burr is a safeish guess, and you'll probably get a Manning of some sort, the rest could be whoever they can reasonably get. When they did the Jonas Family Roast (not great) it was pretty much their wives and Kenan and Pete Davidson so...we'll see I guess.

Sarah Silverman kicks ass. Hope she's one of the roasters.

I may be in the very small minority here but I would be vastly entertained if they went through the whole hoopla of a Tom Brady roast, and Tom shows up, sits down in the throne, and it's just Bill with game film ripping him apart for like ten minutes

Tom is a profoundly weird guy who’s spent a lot of time the past few years trying to not come across as profoundly weird.

There’s sooooo much to roast him over, I hope it’s not all obvious spying and deflating jokes.

I hate (EDIT: that) the normalization that will absolutely come with multiple people making jokes about cheating and deflation. Just add it to the mix of zeitgeisty bullshit tugging John Q. Fucking EVERYBODY away from what science actually means.

Are they going to have any of the people that Brady ruined their memorabilia with by not really signing and doing chicken scratch and diminishing their value?

I was at the Pats Hall of Fame on Saturday and they had two signed Brady jerseys next to each other. One had what appeared to be a decent, normal looking signature, and the other had some odd-looking, squiggly signature that in no way resembled the other.

Good call on Bill Burr. He has been been ready for this for years, especially given his bits on plastic surgery. "You can either be 52 and look 52 or you can be 52 and look like a 28 year-old lizard" goes through my head every time I meet someone my age with that sweet "just Botoxed" shiny/stretched look. Brady doesn't strike me as someone who is going to love getting roasted but we shall see.
