It's 6am to 630. They're saving real topics for when people listen. The first half hour is always garbage, by design
I find it’s not unusual for it to be the best segment of the day. Yes some days it’s just Fred talking about SNL from 1978 for the 18th time but it’s by far the most casual part of the show and often great.

Today Kendra started talking about how she gets skeeved out by the term "roast beef"

To which Fred made a "beef curtains" referwnce.

Can't make this up

Fantastic Fart Court earlier in the week (just catching up) - but I strenuously disagree with Fred’s conclusion that the poker broadcasters sucked. I thought they showed some pretty good comedy chops there.

"I'm sorry my feelings got in the way of your bit." -- Joe Murray.

That segment was a complete disaster. Holy crap.

Shame. Because that caller who asked Joe to repeat the past hour of his show made me burst out laughing yesterday.

Woof. Murray could’ve handled that a lot better. That was cringeworthy. “Catch me up to speed” is only to be read as “hey, I’m late can you pause this whole meeting and repeat what you just spent telling everyone else”.

There’s no debate here. He should’ve laughed it off. Tomorrow he should call the show @ 6:45 and ask them to catch him up to speed just as a self-own to diffuse the situation.

That would be outstanding, and probably Joe's best move since he came across as such a thin-skinned weenie.

And it was such a nothingburger rib on (mainly) Rich’s part. Fred makes fun of James Stewart and the way he talks about wrestling etc. non stop on the show, and Jimmy always been a good sport about it. Laughs it off and admits it’s funny. Man, take a joke Joe. It wasn’t that serious.

I get the sense that T&R get particularly annoyed when either of the Bankroll Boyz take offense to their largely benign ribs. Let's be real, if not for T&R those guys would still be doing a podcast that no one listens to, and Joe certainly wouldn't have his own show.

That segment was awesome. The cringe factor was 10/10.

I get where Joe's coming from, he's waited his entire life for his shot at a full time radio gig, finally got it at 40 and he's got T&R mocking his Zoom question, which was awful and one of the cardinal sins of a company wide meeting.

That being said, he came off terribly and should have just laughed it off and it'd be over. The fact he's doing this is just going to keep it going. I hope he takes Fred's advice and just ignores it and moves on.

The baller move would be to trick Murray and Lifshatz into doing a variant of the Shazowies/Rogue House Leather Dojo commercial.

Did Joe say why he missed the first 20 minutes of the Zoom?

I guess he was planning on doing the afternoon one and management decided he should be in the morning one instead. Feels like they would have given him enough warning if they wanted him in the morning meeting.

Got it. I get that he's trying to be the model employee since he finally landed a full time gig. But if that's the case then you definitely lay low when you jump on the Zoom 20 minutes late.

To Fred's point, especially when you constantly plug things and get free stuff.

Was so cringe it was funny.

Joe came off terribly. "I don't appreciate you talking about a corporate zoom on the air " loke they were discussing how TSH was going to take over EEI or something.

Agree with everyone saying Joe should just lean into it and drop it. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets a ton of calls on it tonight.

The weirdest part was he was doubling and tripling down on his version of it and there were literally people lining up to tell him he was wrong. This wasn't like a private call between Rich and Joe. There were 160 others on the call.

Wouldn't surprise me if Joe says something to management and they tell T&R to drop it

Joe is a really strange guy. I don’t know if it’s because he had to wait so long to get the full time gig and he’s super self conscious about it, but good god did he come off horrible here.

Joe is going to become insufferable quickly if he's getting so offended by this. This was such a stupid non-story that he couldn't let go. Has he ever been to a corporate rah rah meeting before in his prior career? Drawing those things out is an outrageous move.

The toilet.
I had to go back to the podcast to catch the Joe call-in segment, and it was fantastic. Rich was obviously having fun, but Joe seemed on the verge of tears. Tough business to have thin skin, but it entertained me for 15 minutes.

I listened on my drive home last night and Joe seemed actually and inordinately upset. Very cringeworthy but hilarious. It's not that serious!

Unfortunately this seems to be his thing in general. Anytime he was a fill in on the morning show it would devolve into screaming pretty quickly when someone disagreed with him. Maybe that gets muted with his own show, but he seems to take any disagreement and massively amplify it.

Is that Rich’s personal phone number?

This doesn’t look good. I thought maybe he got hacked, seems like he’s moving on.

If Rich was leaving/quit/fired/whatever I can't imagine they'd just GIVE HIM their social accounts....

I think you have it flipped. Rich's twitter is now @heyrichhey - so the toucher and rich account is (presumably) still with the sports hub.

It’s not. Someone else already claimed it. T&R being done, Fred getting fired or quitting and Rich keeping the show on TSH is what makes logical sense.

If this is legit tomorrow will be Hey Rich Hey or the Rich Show tomorrow. God I hope not

Wow. That is even worse. My bad on the misinformation.

Dumb question - why would this happen now and not at the end of a calendar month? You would have to think the contact would run out on that sort of date right? Not a random day in October?

Always felt it was odd that Rich didn’t have his own “personal” Twitter - could this be just finally fixing that? Since he’s been running the T&R feed as his, it kinda makes sense for him to keep the followers. They could build the generic show account back up pretty quickly.

Ed - oh, now I think I get it - it looks like the old @toucherandrich handle was abandoned and somebody unaffiliated grabbed it. I thought they were hanging on to it as well as Rich getting his own identity. Hmm.

That was not what I was going to guess. For Rich's sake I hope he turned one down because he had better options, but I don't know how many of those are out there these days.
