I agree...I've actually found myself listening to more D&C over the past month than I have in a really long time.Outside of the points vs. goals arguments I feel like the show has definitely been in a rut since the hockey season started and the Sox ended. Not sure why but I can't remember the last show that was great. It's been fine and plodding along but seems like their last 3-4 bits have missed the mark, the Sox talk (outside of the Theo/Ben sounding the same stuff) has been brutal with that Biggest Ahole contest. The Gronk stuff was semi-entertaining but nothing great.
You won't find a bigger fan of Toucher and Rich than myself. I admire the effort they put into their program and it is consistently the most entertaining radio show on air in this market today. But I do wonder that if EEI paired Callahan with someone other than John Dennis (you know...like a person who actually still follows sports) if we would see some of the ratings momentum shift back to them during the mornings.
I detest Callahan's politics but he's pretty good when talking about sports (never afraid to ask the tough questions like he did with Lucchino today). I still say that the Felger/Callahan pairings when Felger was still at EEI produced some great shows.
