Ned Garver passed away at the age of 91. He went 20-12 for the St. Louis Browns in 1951 while batting .305. The rest of the Browns pitchers combined for a 32 and 90 record. He hit a home run on the last day of the season to clinch his 20th win and finished second in the AL's MVP Award to Yogi Berra whose Yankee club finished 46 games ahead of St. Louis. In fourteen seasons with second division clubs, Garver was 129-157 (Browns, Tigers, and Kansas City A's, Los Angeles Angels--1948-61).
