Rework JD Martinez contract?

One thing I always remember about Manny’s 2001 season was how Joe Kerrigan went to visit him personally in Florida (during the off-season?) and Manny wouldn’t open the door and let him in.

Somehow I don’t see history repeating itself in that respect.

Said it earlier. I’ll say it again. The Red Sox are all in for 2018 and 2019. The 2020 season will be about retooling a decimated team and barren organization. There’s no reason to renegotiate with Martinez. Take the draft picks when someone else signs him.

In the meantime, Enjoy the next 16 months immensely.
