I've seen very mixed reports on his play the past 2 years. But... At this point who knows. It may work out.

DoDM shouldn't feel bad; Mike Tanier in the RFP draft took Titus Young in like round 12.SMU_Sox said:Basically the gist of it was he was a thumper as a MLB and struggled immensely in pass coverage. PFF liked him as a run stopper but other people said he wasn't all that effective. The only consensus was that he had serious off the field issues.
I felt like DoDM took too much of a risk in him but it was a later round pick. It's amazing to me how someone can ruin their life so easily.
DaughtersofDougMirabelli said:This was also before he got arrested... again.
Yes I should have seen it coming, but all reports I read were he was changing his life around. There weren't many good ILB left, and I think I got a pretty good backup in Nico Johnson for him anyways.
I was dead wrong, and think it's my worst pick by far. But taking a chance and having your worst pick in round 22 isn't too bad.
ElcaballitoMVP said:WIth our next pick, the Jnai Dolphins select RB Chris Ivory
He's had problems with fumbles (although none in the past 2 seasons) and staying healthy, but when he's on the field it's really fun to watch him run with the ball. His downhill running style will fit in well with our offense should Trent Richardson need a breather. While I was initially looking for someone to compliment Richardson, I've still got some flexibility with my last roster spot to add that kind of guy next round. Ivory could never seem to crack the Saints RB rotation, but his numbers were strong in limited work and I feel his skills will be better suited to the power running game we're going to employ over the spread offense NO ran. He doesn't have much experiencing in the passing game, as Sproles took the majority of those snaps from him, but he's graded out well in the limited pass protection and receiving numbers that are available. While he has his flaws, I'm pretty happy getting a guy with 1000 yard potential this late.
Sending DanoooMe a PM right now.

With their final two selections in the draft, the Minnesota Vikings select: Chris Hairston, LT and Denard Robinson, UTIL.
Quick writeup: Hairston was a relatively unheralded 4th Round pick in 2011, but he played well enough to start this season (even taking over at LT for a few games until Cordy Glenn proved he was ready) and seemed to have settled into the starting RT spot when an ankle injury derailed his season in December. I had originally planned to grab an older stopgap player here who could be counted on to provide league average protection at LT until I could address this position in later years - but when looking for someone still available I came across Hairston. At this point, I think he's as good of a gamble going forward as an over-30 league average tackle. And we can still always try to address this position via FA or the Draft next year.

A source tells Profootballtalk that retired ILB Rolando McClain "wants to focus solely on getting himself together before continuing his football career."
In other words, McClain will be back in the NFL -- perhaps next season -- if he can keep himself out of trouble and take care of all of his legal issues. The Ravens have offered to be a resource for McClain, and they'll stash him on the reserve/retired list in order to have him under contract once/if he returns. The tough part for McClain is going to be the whole staying out of trouble thing.
Danoooooooo PM'd. Curious to see what direction he goes.Dgilpin said:skip me
Your options were pretty limited. Your best bets were either going with a low-ceiling game manager type (like Palmer or Hasselbeck) or take a flyer on a high-ceiling guy who probably won't play (Glennon, Mallett, Cousins). But you've managed to do both - you've picked a low-ceiling guy who probably won't play. Congratulations!DanoooME said:After careful contemplation, the Seattle Seahawks have decided to select...

Actually, it should have been obvious all along. The Seattle Seahawks are proud to select Matt Flynn, QB. At least he'll get a shot in Oakland to prove me wrong.
Comment away.
I was really tempted to take Cameron; he's as physically gifted as any TE in the game. Dude is 6'5", and at the 2010 combine finished #2 in the 40, #5 in the bench press, #2 in the vertical jump, #3 in the broad jump, and #1 in all the agility drills (3-cone, 20- and 60- yard shuttles). Big-time risk-reward pick, but the fact that Cleveland didn't take a TE in the draft speaks well for him at least getting an opportunity.ElcaballitoMVP said:Jnai Dolphins round out their roster with TE Jordan Cameron.
He'll fill our FB/flex spot. He's raw. But what he lacks in experience, he makes up for in pure athletic ability. After playing basketball to start his college career, he transferred to USC to be a WR and then converted to TE, where he showed he has the skills needed to play at the NFL level in limited reps. He only caught 20 passes last season, but he's got a new offensive coordinator and head coach who like to feature the TE in their offenses, so I'm looking for a bit of a breakthrough season from him. In the limited reps he's received in his pro career so far, he's shown the ability to be a solid blocker while utilizing his speed and jumping ability down the field.

Thanks guys. I was originally looking at either a change of pace RB or a FB/H-back with my last pick but I figure I can scoop one up later since none really jumped out. Cameron is the projected #1 TE in CLE right now, in an offensive system that he should really benefit from. If he can improve his consistency in blocking and picks up the offense, I think he could be really stand out next year. As you've mentioned, his measurables are pretty impressive.DaughtersofDougMirabelli said:Cameron was a guy I was hoping would fall through the cracks and I could swoop in during the proposed free agent draft this summer/fall. Honestly, I think Vick is my favorite QB on the board at this point. He was flat-out horrible in 2012, but he was terrific in 2010 and was OK in 2011. He'll be 33 next season (old, not ancient) and I think there's a fair chance that he's revitalized in a Chip Kelly offense. Obviously you need the right kind of pieces (deep threats, a decent TE, a C who can set protection because Vick can't, a good pass-protecting RT because Vick's a lefty, some good zone-blocking OL and a one-cut RB for zone read stuff) but I think he's the best of a bad lot here. And I like the fit with Danooo's pieces - I think Vick would fit well with his skill players and OL.soxfan121 said:Yep, this sums up my thoughts. Flynn has little long term upside and might end up having limited short term value (depending on how much Dennis Allen falls in love with Tyler Wilson, who looks like a great pick post-draft).
I said to several owners that I would have taken Cousins in the early teens. First, because he was the best trash-talk candidate amongst QBs. When RGIII's knee explodes, again, or he gets concussed, again, or he suffers some other injury it'll be Kirk Cousins time. This will happen frequently. The opportunity to use this inevitable injury as trash talk fodder against the Tactical Turtlenecks was huge. Second, Cousins has (arguably) as much (or more) of a future than does 5th round pick Nick Foles. Third, unlike Mallet, he's actually thrown NFL passes when it matters.
