This post is factually wrong in several very serious ways--I'm going to address two main axes:
- It misrepresents the comments of another poster who was, granted, incorrect, but also addressed the wrongness, by making claims that look like they make sense only by making a hash of the narrative sequence. You have misrepresented what's been said on what is a serious issue. I take both the issue in question seriously, and the taking cheap shots by distorting the narrative seriously. Do not do this.
- I looked it up on google. FWIW: I have a black belt in google and read at like the 37th grade level. You need to be more specific about what you mean or STFU because, again, these are serious issues and deserve to be treated as such.
I'm sorry sometimes [read: not infrequently] my life spirals out of control but I'd like to think some kind of semblance of intellectual rigor can be maintained while I'm gone, yes?
But perhaps that is not fair. Perhaps it is too much to ask.
One thing, though: I'm back right now.
So this is not aimed at anyone in particular, but please, I beg of you: Knock it the fuck off, yes?
plskthx

"Fake Edit": Anyone who comes to me in PMs asking what they did wrong better be leading with an affirmative defense of why the behavior called in to question was legit and not just ask what they did because I'm fucking busy these days.
First, my apologies for deleting the kitten.
Second, let's review the history:
RBYB responded to my initial inquiry regarding Blount with the following:
He has had at least one, and I think more than one, arrests for domestic violence. He has been arrested for pot, which is less of a big deal but I think he was driving. I could be wrong about the driving, but you can google this pretty easily. He is a shitbag. Right now the RB position in the NFL seems to be at an all time high for guys who like to hit women.
One poster corrected the "arrest" part of his post. I did respond incorrectly regarding the Google part, and RBYB corrected my misunderstanding here:
I said that you could google it on the driving, noting my uncertainty.
I did not acknowledge his (accurate) correction for a couple of reasons. One, because I was not at my computer and did not feel like responding over mobile. Second, I did feel the Blount "bad dude" mini-thread had essentially run its course, and did not feel like adding more posts.
But, RBYB also said, in response to another poster
You are right, he was not arrested. The rumors cane out after he hit the guy in Oregon, but that is very different from an arrest.
I could not find any mention of "rumors" regarding Blount and domestic violence anywhere on Google, and I did more than a cursory check. And I responded the way I did because I do not believe we should say "rumors came out" unless there is a way to back such a statement, especially when it regards domestic violence. No narrative has been distorted, no matter how much you want to believe it was.
If you did find something on Google (or elsewhere) regarding Blount and domestic violence, feel free to share, because noone else posting here has found it either. And, if you do that, I'll correct what I said to RBYB.
EDIT: I do realize that a fraction, likely a horrifically small fraction, of domestic violence incidents get reported in some way, shape or form. And that even a good deal of those those that do get reported are sometimes easily buried. But it's not hard to find actual reported incidents involving Corey Dillon and Randy Moss, to name a couple that I had time to verify via Google. I recall others involving former Patriot players, but I'd rather not state names here as I'd have to go off of memory, and prefer to avoid doing that on an issue such as this. Blount may very well be a total jerk (I already mentioned that), and I have no issue with folks making that claim. He may very well have done some unimaginable things to his domestic partner; I have no idea either way. But that is something entirely different than being a jerk, and I don't think we'd disagree that someone making such a claim should provide something to back up such a claim.
