I just feel bad for him. He’s not a big league player, and he shouldn’t be out there. It’s got to be embarrassing.

Yeah it’s tough to watch him struggle. Seems like a nice guy. My dad (who is 91) loves Bobby D and complained last year when they sent him down. When he likes a player it is almost impossible for that to change. I haven’t had the chance to talk to my dad in a few weeks. I wonder how he feels about Bobby now…

He had a hit, run and BB yesterday and an RBI today so you might get an, "I told you so." Cool that he's still enjoying the games. :):):)

Amazing from Bob Veal to name another run down lefty our lefties always suck but the Yanks always turn the Wandys of the world and Sturtzes Aaron Smalls etc into Cy Young.

It’s funny you say that because that is almost exactly how I figure the conversation will go. My dad also can really dump on guys that play well but started cold (Pedroia is an example). He was always the pessimist in the family “Ha! They sucked you in!” was his favorite saying when I had the Sox on TV at home. Later in life it was his favorite thing to do with my mom as Alzheimer’s started to take her. My most cherished memory was calling him and my mom (the eternal optimist) after the last out in 2004. The best of times.

It's nice that you can still talk baseball with him. Thanks for sharing
