Millar getting a lot of love today. Never has one guy gotten so much out of so little than Millar.  "Don't let us win".  I'd love to have a few with both of those guys.

Millar was a pretty good player for the Sox. Roberts was safe by a foot because Millar drew a walk.

And would you not kill for a Sox 1B right now with a .360 OBP?

"We the Domincans have have had theis chance often. We get what we get, this is the moment.... of faith and determination we were taught in our families at an early age to be proud of our Dominican heritage as a people.

For those who didn't see the "pre-game", Millard told his favorite Pedro story. It was against the Yankees - Millar got beaned by Clemens. After the inning Pedro sat next to him in the dugout and asked, "Who do you want me to get tomorrow?" Millar said something like, "anyone but Giambi cuz he took me out for dinner last night". Next day Pedro hits Jeter and Cano, and tells someone to tell Clemens that "if you hit one of ours, we hit two of yours".

Never once did I think Pedro hit a batter unintentionally, no matter what was said after the game or what type of pitch. I never remember him elevating his "mistakes" either. Except one time to Matsui.

Pedro understands where he came from and those who came before him. Marichal and Martinez.

Though we got Vladi, Manny, Ortiz, and Pujols going in so they won't be alone for too long.

EDIT: Whoops, and ARod. I always forget about that guy.

I always thought Juan Marichal was a pretty big guy.  Like 6'3" or so.  But he's barely bigger than Pedro if he is at all.

Don't think Manny is getting in. Or Arod.

I'm old enough to remember Marichal when he pitched briefly for the Sox near the end of his career. He still had the big leg kick and was bigger than life from his great pitching legacy, and even won a few games for us that year ('74)

Very odd -- most of the speech was on CC2.  then when he switched to Spanish, the captions moved to CC3.

I kept fiddling with the controls on my universal remote and eventually got it to work.
