The most astounding number for me about Randy Johnson is that one season he walked 152 hitters and then later, in 200+ innings, he had a season with only 44.

That has to be the largest range for one guy in seasons of 200+ innings doesn't it?

Harold Reynolds called his jacket a Michael Jackson-type or some such nonsense.

Just on a quick check,
Nolan Ryan: 204BB in 1977 (299IP), 74BB in 1990 (204IP), difference of 130BB

Did some of the crowd think, when they mentioned the Dominican Dandy before they said Juan Marichal, that they were talking about Pedro? Marichal got a big ovation. Big Dominican crowd was probably it. Pedro is only the second DR HOFer? Give me Papi in 7 - 8 years.

Why does Reynolds have to diminish this day? The fact that he's become pretty much the main mlb analyst between MLBN and Fox is so depressing.

What's frustrating is that you can see behind these guys that the ceremony goes on.  I don't care who's speaking or why, I'd rather listen to that than HR and Millar bloviate.

Well, he couldn't talk when Thorne was introducing, he can't talk during each of the inductees speeches, and I can mute the rest.

Pedro is the last speaker today.
Is this confirmed?

I mean, makes sense. I wouldn't want to speak after Pedro.

Thanks Red, Drew, Snod, et alia.

It's great to see people working together to help us all celebrate Pedro.

I'know who would approve? Pedro.

Smoltz K'd Biggio 29 times, more than any other pitcher and Biggio hit .239 against him. He was 0-16 against Randy Johnson, but somehow hit .302 against Pedro.

they really put "gritty sparkplug" on his plaque?

You know they put "faster than a speeding bullet" on Ricky Henderson's?  Blyleven's calls him "fun-loving". Carew's says "batting wizard". Gary Carter's mentions his "signature smile".

They've always been cheesy.

Do they always do the speeches in ascending order?  Seems like it with Biggio/Smoltz/Unit/Pedro.  I don't disagree with the order, but Johnson did have a much higher vote %, wonder if he feels miffed?

Lots of people streamed out after Biggio. Pedro fans will be loud, but losing the casual clapping will affect the decibals. Already lots of cheers, beers, and Red Sox high fives.
