While I think it is likely Caserio will go, this is true. And La Canfora is more often wrong than not.La Canfora isn't Schefter or Rapport so unless it comes from them I will wait on Caserio. I unfollowed La Canfora for a reason. He stinks and doesn't break the news of the other top guys. Hell Field Yates breaks more stuff than La Canfora.
I'm a next man up guy anyway. Patricia and Flores leave in back to back years and we're looking at a historically good defense. The only one it seems they've made a godfather offer to is Josh McDaniels, which signals to me he's heir apparent.I hope Kraft steps in with a Godfather offer to keep Caserio in the fold.
Merriweather was on Toucher and Rich last week and they were asking him about coaches who suck and he basically said most suck, except for Josh who is great. I wouldn't be surprised if he is next. This is despite our Game Thread opinions that Josh couldn't call plays to save his life. (I'm not excluding myself and have ripped on Josh in the past as well)I'm a next man up guy anyway. Hard to take the word of the guy with probably the worst head and decision making of anyone in the league. Fascinating though that he would point to an offensive coach that he theoretically was never directly under.Merriweather was on Toucher and Rich last week and they were asking him about coaches who suck and he basically said most suck, except for Josh who is great. To be fair he did say when asked why he didn't succeed in Denver that it wasn't his fault that Matt Cassel was his quarterback.Hard to take the word of the guy with probably the worst head and decision making of anyone in the league. Monti Ossenfort is the Director of College Scouting, but his contract is also up. Dave Ziegler, Pro Personnel Director, is the other obvious in-house option. Scott Pioli is currently out of a job, too, FWIW.I'm a next man up guy anyway. Patricia and Flores leave in back to back years and we're looking at a historically good defense. Seems like a well timed thing with the Pats in town to avoid any more tamering allegations and deflect attention to it. I would still think Caserio to Houston is a given.Well this is interesting. It looks like Caserio won’t be going to Houston as they don’t want to hire a GM for next year.
