Pretty much their standard home uniforms crossed with the throwbacks in terms of the shoulder stripes. Back in 2002 they wore blue on blue for 2 games (and lost both and never wore them again) but I always liked the look. My guess is they will lose to Houston and never wear blue on blue again.

Not terrible, but the Color Rush idea is one of the stupidest I've ever seen, akin to "Turn Back The Future" unis that baseball had in the late 90s. It's all bullshit marketing fluff.

I like it. Color Rush is general is a dumb thing and I hate it. But the Pats going blue on blue is fine by me. Still wish they could do throwbacks once a year because I love the old logo.

The picture with Gronk has the shoulder stripes going all the way down into the armpits. The Gronk version looks vastly better then this one, which I'm guessing is the cheaper fan version. Jersey's look stupid when the shoulder strips are truncated.

But on balance I wish this was the normal jersey. The Pat's don't have the ugliest uniforms in the league but there is certainly room for improvement. These are much cleaner, more classic look.

So they're selling the Brady Color Rush jersey but preventing Brady from playing in the game with these jerseys.

As always, go fuck yourselves NFL.

Miami's is atrocious.

Back when they did the orange uniforms, they offset it with the white pants and it was a cool alternative.

Orange on orange on orange looks like someone threw up Tang.

I misread that at first as "...something threw up by Trump." Kind of works either way.

Steelers one isn't too bad, but does look kind of high school football team.

And the Texans Color Rush Unis... Navy and Red with white accents. What could go wrong?

Horrible for the most part. Kits for the Seahawks, Dolphins, Panthers, and the team from Washington are particularly heinous.

Edit: After last night’s showing, does anyone think it will be problematic for a viewer--colorblind or not--to pick out the Rams?

The league banned alternate helmets. That's why we don't see the Pat Patriot throwbacks anymore.
Right for "player safety". Probably some integrity thrown in as well.

Imagine if Cam Newton had an alternate helmet on the other night? He may have been concussed!

It's complete bullshit that they don't allow more than one helmet to be used. Colleges used multiple helmets all the time. The all-red Pat Patriot with the white helmet is my favorite Patriots uniform of all time and I wish it could be used again.
And some of the throwback helmets are pretty cool alternatives. e.g. Washington's:

I'm not sure why people are upset at the NFL for not allowing alternate helmets. It sounds like one instance where they actually have done something for player safety (even if it's a small thing) that is going to cost them money (even if it's a small amount).

The Pats' "color rush" unis look exactly like the Texans' normal unis, which wouldn't be such a big deal if they weren't wearing them for the Texans game. Also, I have to think looking exactly like another NFL team's standard kit is going to put a damper on sales.

I would've voted for all-white unis, and let the Texans wear their dark color-rush unis, which are actually pretty cool.

The color rush are pretty similar to this fan design that made it around the web a few years ago, aside from the helmet.

Are alternate helmets made to a different safety standard?

A lot of time is spent perfecting the fit, at least at the highest levels of the sport. It's not realistic to suppose players would devote the same amount of time to tweaking an alternate helmet whilst preparing for a regular-season game. It's a small thing, but it's not nothing.

I disagree about the helmet thing. The regular and alternate helmets are no different than each other, aside from the color and logo. Everything else is identical. Helmets are very adjustable, very easy to fit. Players don't want to play with a helmet that is too loose or too tight, so they get them adjusted, sometimes several times a day throughout the season. To bring this around to DFG, the helmets have air bladders that are inflated or deflated to get the right fit. Throughout a game or a practice, depending on conditions, the air pressure can and does change. Science...weird.

In other words, the player safety element with regards to not allowing alternate helmets, is a bag of shit.

Why is it a rule, then? Clearly, the league is stopping some teams from doing something they think would be beneficial from a marketing perspective. Maybe it's a question of perceived safety (i.e., players feel more comfortable using the same helmet week to week) rather than actual safety, but I don't think safety concerns are being used as a pretext to conceal some other motive.

Honestly I don't know. You might be right about the perceived safety. It could be a comfort thing for the players. I do know one thing...helmets are not cheap. And maintaining them is not cheap either. At the high school and lower levels, helmets are inspected by a third party (such as Riddell) after every season, and reconditioned every 2 seasons. They are typically replaced after 4 seasons. That gets expensive, quick. But I am fairly certain that most teams have the $ to handle that.

This, I love. Except it looks like the Bills unis with slightly darker blue and a Pats logo instead of the Buffalo. Otherwise, that's a fantastic look.

If the idea is "color rush," the jerseys should be red or silver. Their regular jerseys are already blue. From a sales standpoint, who's going to run out and buy a Patriots jersey that looks like a Texans jersey? What a fail.

They did a silver jersey before and it was absolutely awful. People will buy this jersey because people are sheep and it's a "new" jersey.

This whole idea is filled with fail. As if the NFL was having trouble selling merch before this terrible idea. This sprang from the same deranged mind that gave us the current Bucs' and Seahawks' and Jags' jerseys, which are heinous in every way.

Wow. Just realized when I search in Safari for "Blind" it doesn't pick up "colorblind" for some unknown reason. That's interesting.

I actually did search for "Blind" for posting as I remembered it being in the thread but didn't want to reread through 45 posts.

What exactly is the idea? I mean, I understand 3rd jerseys (and even 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th jerseys) as a money making scheme, and as far as I am concerned teams can have 10,000 different jerseys as long as I'm not actually required to buy them.

But why "color rush" as a theme?
