Love it. Buy low opportunity. They love signing or trading for these guys who have been in the league a few years who were high on their draft list. Seems to be a bit of a market inefficiency they have exploited. Hope it works out better than the last 6'7 TE they signed (Chandler)

He's been sidelined with injuries in two of his four seasons, and the Cardinals' offense has been so WR/vertical-focused during that time, so it's hard to say what we may be getting with him. They've consistently been in the bottom 3rd in TE production. I do remember his name being thrown around here a fair bit before the '14 draft, although I'm pretty sure that all of Niklas/Federowicz/ASJ/Amaro/Insert Hernandez Replacement were somebody's binky at one time or another.

Seems like Allen depth/competition if they decide they need the cap space.

I was a big Niklas fan for the 2014 draft. He was a pretty interesting prospect; recruited to ND as an edge rusher where he played as a freshman. Switched to TE as a sophomore and broke out as a junior when he declared. He’s huge and can block but he’s rarely been able to stay healthy. He’s close to Allen as a blocker and is much cheaper with some added upside as a receiver but he lacks Allen’s consistency and dependability. Definitely worth a flyer though.

Yet another Real Fantasy Patriot going to the real life Pats. Loved this kid coming out of ND. Exceptional blocking TE that can make plays but was grossly underutilized in Arians offense. I like this.
