He could have a completely valid reasons for having missed an appointment, and I think it comes across as petty for a source from within the Patriots to complain to the press anonymously about something that is both so specific and so small (in the grand scheme of things).
So you honestly think that was an isolated occasion, as opposed to an example of a behavioral pattern?

I would add to those two points that BB seems to understand the inherent uncertainty better than other coaches/GMs, and maximizes his odds of getting a few late round gems by making a lot of late round picks. Belichick didn't really expect Eddleman to turn into the guy he is today, or he wouldn't have taken nobodies like George Bussey or Jake Ingram ahead of him. Instead, Eddleman was just one of the many potentially useful flyers who happened to work out.

Seriously? If you aren't sure, look it up.

Former teammate (anonymously) calls Easley "a lockeroom cancer":

Easley reportedly butted heads with the Patriots over how to rehab his injuries and Volin spoke to other league sources who advanced the narrative of Easley upsetting people off the field. One source called Easley “disrespectful and irresponsible” and he faces a lawsuit from a friend who says Easley’s dog attacked him while he was staying at Easley’s house. Per Volin, Easley is also bracing for a pair of other lawsuits.
Sounds like he had all the hallmarks of a quick ticket out of Foxboro.

I might be off base but this kinda shakes my respect of the team.
With Hernandez I assumed that the "Signs" were kept hidden.
With Jones I assumed that this was an "Isolated incident"
(and Spikes, and Moss towards the end)
Now with Easley(I'M NOT OMITTING SOMETHING, I AM A GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION DUMMY)

I give them credit for cutting ties(A DUMMY OF GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION)(eventually)
But I am starting to wonder(A PUNCTUATIONAL WONDERMENT OF DUMBNESS)how much did they know and put up with? Sure BB is constantly making risk vs reward decisions and it was now that he didnt like the equation(PUNCTUATION, THY NAME IS DUMBSTICAL)but Like many fans I drank the coolaid that "The Pats would never put up with this shit(WELCOME TO DUMBSHITVILLE, POPLULATION:GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION)thats part of what makes them great on the field".
Well they did(MY NEW LAWFIRM IS TITLED DUMMY, DUMMY, DUMMY & PUNCTUATION)and do(DID I MENTION MY PROFICIENCY IN PUNCTUATION DUMBFUCKERY?)and will (BACHELOR OF ARTS IN DUMB PUNCTUATION USAGE) and for players that are not that great.
Does that make them worse then anyone else? No(I'M LOOKING INTO GRADUATE PROGRAMS BECAUSE WHY NOT?)but I assumed (naively) that they were better, if even slightly. Their record was part of the proof.

Kinda "earth shattering" for lack of a better term

Personally i think it depends on if this is injury related or behavior.

If injury (I'm not omitting something, I have no desire to learn basic grammar) they knew he was a risk. They took a chance and it failed. They had and have a (comparatively) loaded team when they too that chance.

If its behavior (seriously, I don't have the brain capacity to function as a literate adult) I guess its in the conversation for biggest bust.

I just hope to god they stop taking gators. Has one ever worked out for the Pats?
Filter, or the equivalent of SoSH mod KP?

Two years is extremely quick to cut ties with a guy who played well enough (when he played) and wasn't arrested for any felonies. How much sooner would you have done it? After year one the FO is probably thinking "okay, there's a difference of opinion here but let's give him past the rookie year to either get in line or produce enough to moot the injury insubordination concerns."

Earth shattering is melodramatic.
OK. But I guess thats part of my point. There must be something more here. Being a dink is something that maybe you can live with for the life of his rookie contract considering the promise.

They didnt.
So where there is smoke there is likely to be fire. And IF (big if) there is fire (IE Bigger issue) I doubt it popped up in the last 3 weeks. Especially considering reports now streaming out about his Gainesville days. So they put up with it for 2 years.

Who knows maybe I should still give them credit. If this was the Cowboys he would still be on the team.

One Patriot player telling me "Easley never fit. Never tried to fit." Then he made a noise. Good riddance? "Yep."

Michael Giardi ‏@MikeGiardi 18m18 minutes ago
Another Patriot said simply of Easley, "strange dude."

Worth mentioning Easley chose not to be with team at Super Bowl his rookie year and told one teammate he didn't care if they won or lost

Easley went unclaimed on waivers.

You'd think that there were some bad defensive teams that would grab him rather than risk having to compete for him on the open market, but maybe his reputation is just that bad.
The lesson, as always, is if you can't make it in the Patriots clubhouse you will cost yourself millions and might want to start planning your next career. Easley probably cost himself millions.

Maybe it's time to move on from UF guys.

The Patriots have released defensive tackles Chris Jones and Ishmaa'ily Kitchen on Friday. Jones is a fourth-year player who missed all of last season due to injury and was scheduled to earn $1.67 million in 2016. He was considered a top candidate to replace the recently released Dominque Easley, but the club might have viewed his salary as too rich based in part on him coming off a serious calf injury.

Howe with a new angle on this:

One of the Patriots’ most well-respected veteran leaders has come to the defense of former teammate Dominique Easley.

Easley, the 2014 first-round pick who was released Wednesday, has been the victim of reports that have painted him in a negative light over the past two days.

It has come as a surprise, considering Easley’s personality never raised any red flags during his actual tenure with the team, and his jovial nature and infectious smile seemed far more welcomed than the alternative, both in the locker room and on the practice field.

With that in mind, the Herald spoke to one of the Patriots’ most prominent leaders, who vouched for the way Easley conducted his business.

“I loved Easley, especially his work ethic,” the player said. “I hope he gets a second chance. . . . He’s a great (guy) and teammate in my eyes.”

PFT surmises it might be Gronk who shares the same agent (Rosenhaus, against whom I wouldn't put anything past).

Restructure, assuming he's healthy?

The Patriots must pay him $1million + next year, guaranteed, if he is home watching 16 games like the rest of us. The cap cost of cutting him exceeded the cost of keeping. If there was one transaction that had zero to do with finances, cap wise or otherwise, cutting him was that.

I'm not reading between the lines very well on this one. Part of the mention here is he wasn't following the team trainers/medical advice. He was off in Germany getting treatment. What are the odds he was getting the Kobe 'miracle' treatment on his knees? And if so, why would the team be opposed to that?
