Both Washington and the Pats pass on Daniels. He begins to slide, changes his mind, and gets crushed.

Pats will draft two players from Holy Cross. Both will get cut and one becomes an FBI agent and the other becomes a lawyer and joins Ted Wells' law firm

While the draft threads might be getting a little out of hand, it'll all be over soon enough. In this thread, you get to post one draft-related hot-take and one hot-take only. Please put it in bold. What's your hot-take?

Mine:

While the Pats take QB at 3, their second pick isn't used to draft a WR or OT.
Love this idea. Who do the Pats take in the 2nd?

Caleb Williams is, at best, the third best QB in this draft and won't be much better than Justin Fields. And I think Fields is terrible.

Best player available. Maybe a defensive player falls out of the first round. Or maybe they take a C or TE. I just don’t think it’s a given that they’re going to draft for need with any given pick after their first pick.

The Pats are going to draft Maye and then trade back up into the late first round. Maybe that's not so "hot" but it's what I think might happen.

It's more likely the Pats draft Maye AND another player in first round than they trade down from #3.

The Pats draft JJM at #3 and he'll turn out to be "the (second-)best decision the organization has ever made," surpassed only by the player to whom that quote is attributed.

None of the top-3 QBs will truly pan out, and for the next few years we'll see graphics showing all the guys who were picked ahead of the late-first-rounder who did succeed - and people will shake their heads at how so many teams could have passed on such a transcendent player.

I think that in addition to taking a QB at 3, the Pats also should take a flyer on one in the late rounds to better their chances of finding the right guy.

Love the hot takes, but the ones that are predicting performance don't really seem in the spirit of the thread. I much more enjoy the hot takes of what happens TONIGHT, vs. our evaluation 3 years out.

The Jets will fuck up their pick.
Everyone has them pegged taking Bowers, if that happens he would be a solid addition for them imo.

From the looks of things the Patriots look like they want to move out of number 3 to me, but teams look like they have no interest in giving them reasonable compensation, never mind the haul most pats fans would want. I think they are forced to stay at 3 and take whichever qb drops to them.

The Patriots trade for a #1 WR (Tee Higgins? Aiyuk?) using primarily future draft assets and sign him to a big extension.

In order to maximize the value of whomever they draft at 10, the Jets will immediately trade him for a second round pick in 2025.

The Jets spend all day on the phone trying to work out a trade with the Cardinals for the #4 pick, only to realize too late they have been talking to the St. Louis Cardinals.

6 QB's go in the 1st round- Williams, Daniels, Maye, McCarthy, Penix, Nix

(And Pats trade back into round 1 to secure a LT)

Pats go defense (DB) in R2 to everyone's chagrin but that guy ends up being a stud. Our best WR pick will be a late rounder.

Pats draft a second quarterback in the sixth round (along with Drake Maye with the third pick) who ascends to GOAT status after Maye gets a crushing blow in the 2025 season that causes internal bleeding.

My hot taek: some projected first round defensive player slides in Round 1 and the Pats take him with their Round 2 pick, unable to resist the BPA despite a litany of holes on the offensive side.

Someone will take a kicker in the 4th round who will work out better than Ryland. [As working out worse would be a physical impossibility.]

Some team who just threw nearly $200 million at a QB will draft Michael Penix in the top 10. I'm guessing a team dumb enough to think Raheem Morris is a better guy to lead their team because he has a lot of youthful energy.

I know this thread is calling for crazytown ideas but this is ridiculous.
