While the draft threads might be getting a little out of hand, it'll all be over soon enough. In this thread, you get to post one draft-related hot-take and one hot-take only. Please put it in bold. What's your hot-take?

Mine:

While the Pats take QB at 3, their second pick isn't used to draft a WR or OT.

The Pats will draft Drake Maye at #3 and then trade him to the Giants for JJM and picks.

Okay, my no-chance-in-hell hot take: Patriots trade back with the Giants at 6 ... then trade back AGAIN into the top 15, picking up significant draft capital over the next 2-3 years

That's called "The Belichick" and I'm really hoping they've taken it off their menu. (Because I like immediate satisfaction.)

Saints trade up to 3 and get Daniels. Pats get 14, 45, a future first, a future 2nd and 2 future 3rds and one of their DB's.

If the Pats somehow wind up with JJM, our Michigan fans amongst us will end up spending all their waking hours defending the pick all the way up until JJ is traded to the Panthers for a protected fifth rounder in two years.

If all other Michigan grads had his kind of marketing, the Harvard, Penn and Princeton types would all work for them.

No long snappers, Rutgers players, or armed-services members will be selected by the New England Patriots.

The Pats are taking a QB at #3 and then trading UP to take Brian Thomas around #18-20

Whatever QB the Patriots draft will suddenly suck in the eyes of the Boston media. The bitching will start before he even gets the man hug from Goodell.

Felger and Mazz are all in on Michael Penix, so it's a given that they'll complain no matter who the guy is they pick at 3 because you could have had a haul in a trade down and picked a better QB later.

My hot take is the Patriots will use either their second or third round pick (in conjunction with a future pick) to trade for a receiver on Friday.

I could see this happening. I frequently do mocks where it's impossible not to take the defensive player that slipped from an expected mid-first out to 34. Also, I could see one of the high end OC making sense at 34.

Patriots trade #3 to Minnesota for #11, #23, 2025 #1 and LT Darrisaw. Patriots take Penix at #11, Brian Thomas Jr. at #23 and Xavier Worthy at #34.

Everyone thinks Dallas needs to trade down so of course they will try to overreach on a WR instead.

Krafts intervene and overdraft JJM, assign him jersey #13 because he's the continuation of the Michigan Man legacy with the NEP.

Pats draft Maye at #3. If JJM is available at #5, Pats trade #34, 2026 #1 and 2027 second-rounder to LAC for Herbert (and Harbaugh drafts JJM), then trade Maye to NYG for #6, Giants second-rounder this year, and Giants #1 in 2025 and draft Joe Alt.

That'd be pretty awesome, but the Chargers wouldn't go for it. Like the way you think, though.

Somewhere
People are going to lose their mind over a highly touted WR or OT that drops two rounds below the mocks and the Patriots pass on them twice.

Everyone will be happy and make comments about how great it is to go chalk in rounds 2-7 and not do any BB type stuff but the results of those picks won’t end up demonstrably better than the average Belichick draft.

Minnesota gives up a draft haul to pick Maye at #3 and JJM lasts to #11 for New England. And he makes everyone forget about the Mac Jones era.

I dunno about two rounds, but I can foresee some tantrums when they pass on Jermaine Burton.
I feel like nobody will care because he's projected to go 3rd/4th.
It's gonna be when Ladd is on the board at 34 and they trade back into the 40s that people lose their minds.

Everything the Pats have done this offseason has been by the books. If the trend continues, they go Maye with the 3rd, and the best WR/T available with their next pick.
