I don't have to worry about that possibility. If you think John has a hair across his ass now, wait until OBJ signs with the Pats on a 2 season contract.
I am impressed that you know the layout of NMAC'mon now, that's Logan not Norwood Memorial.
Be better.
This deserves loveIt's a landscaping company
I imagine a 2-year deal would look a lot like Revis' where it's really a short-money one year deal that looks like a big money 2-year deal.If you think John has a hair across his ass now, wait until OBJ signs with the Pats on a 2 season contract.
Those skills being the inability to run the proper route?
I think this is correct. I'm guessing OBJ really wants to go to a team with an elite QB that is in playoff contention. Green Bay probably checks those boxes the best.Do people think OBJ looks at Seattle and KC and thinks he’d be a WR3? I imagine he thinks he’s better than Metcalf and Hill and would go in as the star. He’s not right of course, but I’d be shocked if he’s making decisions based on his true, current talent level.
I think he probably far overestimates his current skill level, but I imagine he's smart enough to know Seattle is the 3rd best (at best) team in their division and there are two very credible targets to share the ball with regardless of where he falls in the target heirarchy. KC is similar in terms of the competition for the ball, but the passing volume is higher and the teams ahead of them in the division race are much more catchable.Do people think OBJ looks at Seattle and KC and thinks he’d be a WR3? This is where I’ve arrived. I’m not thrilled with the prospect, mind you, but from a purely practical perspective it would be worth it.I’m in favor of OBJ. This receiving corp is pedestrian and needs help. He isn’t 2014 Odell anymore but he’d still likely be the best WR on the team from day 1. The Pats are right in the mix for both the division and a wild card spot and the time is right for some reinforcements. He’d give defenses something new to think about, which is always good.
As for potential impact on Mac, I’m not really concerned about a regression of his development from a couple months of a temperamental WR. He’ll be fine.
I've come around to being in favor. If he's a distraction, he'll be gone. If he's unproductive, he'll be gone.I’m in favor of OBJ. This receiving corp is pedestrian and needs help. And there is upside here given he’s still only 29 and there’s a chance he could come back if things go well.I've come around to being in favor. If he's a distraction, he'll be gone. If he's unproductive, he'll be gone.
I doubt he's headed to NE, but I'm intrigued enough to see what would happen
To be fair, team AB was right if he wasn't a sex predatorAnd there is upside here given he’s still only 29 and there’s a chance he could come back if things go well.
Like you, I doubt NE is the destination but I hope BB pursues.
I was also on #teamab so I do tend to have blinders on with these risk/reward situations.
Well, except for the fact that he had been a massive headache at two stops and that shouldn’t have been surprising. It wasn’t just that he had charges filed against him. It was a high risk move particularly given their cap situation at the time (that I supported BTW) and they got burned.Yeah AB wasn’t a bad move it just didn’t work out
Sometimes risks work, sometimes they don’t. If he had kept his personal stuff in order and the Pats went on to title 7 we wouldn’t have called it a bad move. It worked out great for the Bucs last year.He wasn't a bad move from a talent perspective, but was a risk because he's an asshole and there were questions about his character before they signed him. I wanted no part of AB. If there are similar OBJ allegations I don't want him either.
Edit: by character on AB I mean the accusations off the field, not the on-the-field nonsense that I am aware of from OBJ.
Worked out great for the Bucs so long as you don't mind having that kind of guy on your team. YMMV. Taking a risk on a guy like OBJ who is a selfish asshole but who hasn't been accused of any crime (assuming that is true) is a different kind of risk than what they took when they signed AB.Sometimes risks work, sometimes they don’t. If no one else wants it, I claim this as a new sig line.To be fair, team AB was right if he wasn't a sex predator
Problem is they’re 4-5 with games against BUF, TB, NE, AZ, LV remaining. Can’t imagine OBJ would be too interested in that situation. Odds of making the playoffs are pretty low.Colts would make some sense for both sides, as they've struggled without Hilton in thelineup.
True, but the Colts would seem to have cap space for a multi-year deal.Problem is they’re 4-5 with games against BUF, TB, NE, AZ, LV remaining. Can’t imagine OBJ would be too interested in that situation. Odds of making the playoffs are pretty low.
Disagree. He was a fucking headache that year and had more than enough luggage in just the prior two weeks. They were up against the cap, and signing AB made it so that the only options they had at the trade dead line had to be cheap options. I HATED that move.Yeah AB wasn’t a bad move it just didn’t work out
Yeah, at this point I'd happily sign up for OBJ's potential. Of the receiving options we signed, Henry and Bourne have had their moments and Smith has occasionally looked useful, but Agholor has been garbage. Losing White really hurts (although Bolden is looking more and more like a serviceable poor man's version). Our #1 receiver has as many TD receptions as I do, and N'Keal Harry continues to be invisible. Sign me up for a receiver with actual talent (lazy or not), our offense could really use an infusion (especially with our RBs decimated).Guys, Nelson Agholor blows. He has one TD catch in the last eight weeks and it was on a trick play pass from Kendrick Bourne.
We'd be crazy not to roll the dice on OBJ as a potential huge improvement as our X-receiver/deep threat. This is the kind of move that actually gives you a chance (if it works out) to be a much more dangerous team. If it doesn't work, then no big loss.
