Losing your LT and QB to serious knee injuries before the season is just nuts.
Jesters med staff (who were initially wrong about Becton, fwiw) seem to be leaning PCL again (that was injury from Pats game last year) but need MRI. I’m expecting ACL because that’s how these things go. Also, just for full information, Becton was going to play RT this year. Jets have subsequently signed Duane Brown and this likely (not official yet) moves Fant back to RT.
Zach had been having a good camp according to beat reporters but looked terrible in his first series tonight. He always starts games too amped up.
Since I’m giving a run down, the offensive talent (outside qb) on this team is the best it’s been in a long time. Elijah Moore and Wilson get open easily. RB seems good with Carter and Hall and this UDFA Zonovan Knight they have is impressing in camp and looked good tonight. Jets actually have good TEs for this first time in forever.
The D is a much bigger question mark. On paper it should be way better (6 starters that didn’t play last year) especially at the edge but I’m a skeptic of the system they run. I know it worked that one year in SF but that D was loaded. I see the Jets trying to get players to fit the scheme but I’m still a wait and see. I’ve never seen a team give up rushing yards like they did last year. Gregg Williams with worse talent had much better results. D last year was flat out embarrassing.
The star of the coaching staff is the younger LaFleur, imo. Saleh a good figurehead and leader. People like him ( including myself).
On Jimmy G….I don’t even know if he is better than Flacco.
