Hot take: Calipari isn’t a good coach. Excellent recruiter, poor coach

Cal’s recruiting makes it hard on himself the coach. His lineups are mostly five 4* and up recruits who are 18-19 years old. He doesn’t recruit role players who stick around for 4-5 years to solidify the lineup….it’s a bunch of uber talented kids who are are raw, presently have lower BBIQ than their older counterparts, and are at their best individually.

It's not all that different from Duke right now. And as we saw last year against Tennessee and this year against Carolina (twice), when they face an older, physically more developed / tougher team, they have a really hard time.
