Alabama playing like they’re supposed to. They’ve brought their A game so far. UConn hasn’t but Johnson has given them a big lift.

Fun first half so far.

UConn’s three percentage has been bad all tournament. Nobody has discussed it because they have been beating up on teams but this has always been the concern.

Alabama isn’t going to shoot 70% from three all game long.

I mean, if they do, they’ve got a good chance of winning.

You hear this often in these games but the best predictor is often how they are doing not reversion to the mean. There is no reason to think they won’t continue to make them at a very good percentage.

There isn’t? Don’t you expect some regression to the mean naturally, and also some adjustments defensively by UConn?

uh no that’s not “often” the best predictor.
sorry for the short dickish response i meant to say saying it’s often the best predictor is basically saying besides all the times it doesn’t work it works. sixty per ent of the time it works every time etc

but also if you predict 2nd half using 1st half shooting you’ll do worse than using season long shooting. i’ve looked at this

Regardless if Alabama keeps it up and beats us because they shot 70% from three, I'm perfectly at peace with that. Their three point shooting was one of the scary things about them going in, and we've seen it so far. Easier said than done, of course.

Some. But I can remember plenty of tournament upsets where the claim was that a team would cool down and it turned out to be Occam’s razor. You don’t make 72 percent because you are lucky. You make them because you are in rhythm and seeing the rim. Remember that Arizona Wisconsin game where the announcers were like “keep hoisting them up” and they went like 9/11 in the second half? 72 percent is seemingly not sustainable but they don’t need to replicate that to win. I don’t see them going 1 for 9.
