Best thing I can say about this UNC team is that if you’re an agnostic college basketball fan, who doesn’t care about the draft or pro prospects, you probably love this team.
It’s a collection of very good college players (young like Elliot Cadeau, old like Cormac Ryan) who have very little future in the NBA.
As a fan of basketball (both NBA and college), I think they really suck.
Just reading this now.. but even before tonite I think this may be one of the least talented UNC teams I’ve seen in a while..
RJ Davis to me looks like he is always at full speed and at the brink of being out of control.
Bacot.. what kind of NBA player will he be? He’s scored a ton of points at Carolina.. but is it just because the team around him isn’t that great and the 5 in college ball is close to the weakest it’s possibly ever been?
Beyond that is there anyone that really sticks out? Ryan as you said and Cadeau who has an odd self confidence as well as possibly the yips at the same time.. makes two three pointers early after bricking 1000 throughout the tourney and still has zero confidence after making those two.
This team was encapsulated in their last
two possessions.. up 1 with plenty of time left they took one of the dumbest three point shots ever.. and to end the game RJ Davis was basically expected to get a layup against two or three players I guess?
Hubert is prob not the coach for the future but I’d say this team way over performed based on their talent.
