Here are the results.  Some interesting or funny quotes:

Do you agree or disagree with Joe Girardi that MLB is ready for an openly gay player?
NL All-Star: "We come in here and we're all trying to do the same thing. Who cares what a guy does in his own time?"

Would you vote to kick A-Rod out of the union?
NL All-Star: "I was very disappointed he was suing the union. It's a union that's helped him make so much money and given every advantage to so many players. It's like a fraternity brother saying he's out of the fraternity and going with another one. He had a choice to make, and he's made it about him, not about us together."

Which team is most overhyped?
NL outfielder: "The Yankees are the center of attention every year, so it's fun to watch them when they're going to be as bad as they will be this year. They're just so old that there's no way that lineup stays together. And even if they all stay healthy, it's hard to see where guys aren't tailing off."

Would you be in favor of an MLB salary cap?
Yes: 6 percent; No: 94 percent
NL infielder: "Absolutely not. The owners make so much money as it is. They wouldn't be paying guys what they do if they couldn't make that back."
AL pitcher: "No way. That's a horrible question. If that's really a question, I am ending the interview right now."

94% of the players feel that the concussion policy is doing the job in MLB, which has to be some kind of record. What would the percentage for the NFL be? 50?

And then half of that first 50% wouldn't remember that they were asked the question after they get their bells rung in practice the next day.

Thanks for the link--that survey was cooler than I expected; it's actually a pretty good one.

What do we think the guys who said MLB is not ready for an openly gay player think when they see they are in a minority of 19%? I mean, that's sorta proof that it's YOU who are not ready, not everybody else.

That more than 50% agree Trout is the best player was interesting. Also, it was pretty gratifying to see the Red Sox didn't make top three over-hyped teams; respect the wins--I think that's cool.

I have no real evidence on the thought process of these guys, but maybe the 19% was being a little bit more honest about the realities that a gay teammate might have to face from a clubhouse? I think that might be a little bit more accurate than saying that the 19% are all ignorant guys who can't accept a gay teammate.

Also interesting were the 9% who would apparently prefer Cabrera.

Fair point--some of them could have been trying to be objective. But the 81% should be compelling nonetheless.

Yeah, I'm torn between being surprised that it's not a consensus and that there's so much agreement; both would seem to make sense.
