Plantiers Wart said:Caught a bit of his show the other day and he actually had a Celtic fan call in. Guy started saying how they should trade some picks to get Kevin love. Mike raves about the coach and then says the notion that the celts have to get love "because he's white" is 20 years outdated and rips the caller. Then mike adds that celts should keep picks and draft Kaminski, because he'd make a "wonderful Celtic". Huh?
Draft experts are no experts. They miss on over half the players usually.Vinho Tinto said:I heard the conversation. He didn't explain why Kaminski would be good for Boston . So it's a little unfair to assume he meant white when he just said the days of the Celtics caring about that were long over. He clearly likes him more than most draft experts.

He's delivering a faux-sincere live read for Fox Sports Live. Just dripping with sarcasm.
No grief? I guess all those 18-1 T-shirts are my imagination?Stu Nahan said:In discussing the pressure on UK to go 40-0, Mike claimed that the Pats got no grief for not going undefeated. The caller questioned him on that contention and he reiterated his stupidity. Reality truly is a construct in Fatso's world.

Stu Nahan said:Caller: "Anything less than 40-0 for Kentucky is going to be a letdown." It will be seen as a "choke".
Mike: "The Pats didn't get that. The Pats never heard one word about that, but Kentucky will."
Caller : "They heard about it as far as historic..."
Mike: "They didn't get beat up at all. They didn't get beat up at all."
Fatso goes on to talk up the pressure on UK and how no one wants to give them credit. His hate for the Pats and the twisting of reality that he uses to push his agenda is something to behold. I must have imagined the countless times he used losing in the Super Bowl to criticize Belichick and Pats.
ifmanis5 said:So he's avoiding the topic everyone wants to hear about? His seats behind home plate yesterday for the Yankee home opener supplied by ARod and Mike and family getting cozy with ARod after the game.
Ah, thanks for the recap.NJ Fan said:No, he opened his show with his explanation, which sounded totally plausible. He had been invited by a major, long-time WFAN sponsor to the game to sit with the guy in in the guy's seats. He said he had no "idear" (sorry, couldn't help myself) who was sitting near him. He said that plenty of people emailed him links to the story last night and he got a chuckle out of it. Paraphrasing: "The Post (or any of these outlets) could've asked me and I would've told them what I just told you."
I can't listen. What's he been talking about?cheekydave said:Been listening to Mike for 11 years. He is now at his most venomous, irritable, short tempered, pompous, and annoying.
If I was a betting man I would say he quits within 1-2 years.
It seems like he hates doing this now, totally burnt out, really needed Dog to buffer him a bit.
He has turned into a mean bitter insecure man.
Funny you mention that today. My wife and I were just having a late lunch at home, and I surfed/stopped on his show on FS1/2. After 60-90 second, my wife asked why I kept it on, as I often rail about his schtick now. I pretty much paraphrased many of your points, but I used the phrases "so full of himself", "world's greatest living authority", "waiting for him to go off the rails", and a few more.cheekydave said:Been listening to Mike for 11 years. Gammons: "I do, too."
I think his contract ends in '17, so he maybe he packs it in then. I think his irritation etc. has grown with his Fox Sports situation, maybe compounded by the the general suckage of NY teams over the last couple of years. I think he's a NY sports fan at heart, so I think that colors his demeanor. He's probably about to become a HUGE Rangers fan.cheekydave said:Been listening to Mike for 11 years. Maybe he meant over the duration of Kimbrel's contract.
Kimbrel's highest single season WAR (per b-ref) = 3.3
Time left on his contract = 3 years + an option
3.3 X 3 years = 9.9 WAR
What do you know? Francesa might be right...assuming the Pads would otherwise get 0 WAR out of any other closer for the next three years.
Mike's no fool, nosiree. He's going to live to be a 103!ifmanis5 said:All Mets from Mike today. Ignoring Sox/Yankees, he's now Matt Harvey fan #1. Mike's no fool, he sees the Yanks stink and he's off that bandwagon asap. The Summer of Mets, coming up.
