I'm not joking he just said this about not putting Joba in the bullpen:

"If you have a hole, or a scratch on yr wall in the garage, you aren't going to use the expensive oil paint from Picasso's palette.
You are going to use the cheapest paint you can possibly find."
Must've been listening to Eck last night

Lisa from Whitestone, baby!

Edit: Ticket and empty seat bitching, nothing about the CLASSLESSNESS of the Yankees. How surprising after her rant about Ellsbury. God her voice is grating.

That was Lisa from Whitestone? I missed the beginning of her call and the first thing I thought when I heard that voice was "Suzyn's on?"

"Red Sox can. Yankees can't. Case closed."
lmao

This is over the top (it's talk radio), but it's a rant in the best sense. Really enjoyable, well delivered and capturing what many of the fans are feeling.

As contrasted with WEEI, where the rants are against the callers. Where, for example, Neanderthals in the afternoon rip a page from Joe McCarthy (the Senator, not the manager) and attempt to decapitate those traitors who would suggest that the Patriots might have made a mistake on this or that or another thing.

And so Firefox decided to crash in the middle of my upload and I lost everything. Great.
I'll zip the 2 quicktime files to Sendspace and handoff the links here when they're done in 1 hour and 3 minutes. Sorry, lots of tech glitches today.

"Mike, Mike, I KNOW people Mike. I know people who have these tickets Mike, it's gonna be a DISAASTAH."

The worst is Francesa listens to her and lets her go on and on like she's some kind of sage.

this is bizarro world today...Francesa ranting about an empty Yankee stadium with no juice...switch over to Kay and he's waxing poetic about how pumped up and excited the stadium was last night for Joba's "epic" performance...

What's even weirder is that I was there last night, and realized after the first inning that Joba was pitching well, but had no idea that this was a storyline of the WHOLE game on YES. I came home and watched the replay of the game YES does and couldn't believe how much they were drooling over his performance, and giving him player of the game no less!

Did it already happen, or is it about to?
Just happened. Nothing really interesting. One exchange was funny, I'm paraphrasing:

Kay: "9 strikeouts looking, what do you attribute that to?"
JtC: "Mike Dimuro does a great job behind the plate."

Mike started with Manny- It hurts his HOF chances, voters aren't voting drug guys in and that will also be the case with Manny.

Then hit the Yanks hard-- you expect them to lose, they always find a way to lose.

This is strange. He's taking calls now and seemingly no one cares about this story. They are complaining about the Mets/Yanks.
I expected people to be licking their chops trying to call today about Manny. Strange...

Have you never seen one of those maps of a New Yorker's view of the world?

Beyond that, the apparent lack of interest in Manny by the Yanks and Mets would appear to reflect well on those clubs, but their fans are not now interested in anything that reflects well on those clubs. They want blood.

Unfortunately after living here for a couple of years now, I know this map well. But, seriously, i figured every Yanks fan on the face of this earth would be calling up "See Mike, HE WAS A CHEATER!" Etc...
I'm just surprised is all, that they aren't lining up to finally have a valid reason to kill the guy.

What I'm even more surprised about, is Mike being somewhat defensive of Manny and not wanting to believe it.

All you needed to hear was his opening remarks to know where Francesa is at...he's sitting at Citifield the night after Santana throws a gem...an hour after the Manny news...and he says..."but the big story in New York, and in all of baseball, is the Yankees"....give me a fucking break...

Did John Heyman really just say to Mike that this Yankee team is potentially a 4th place finisher?

Should be another good listen today.

He will destroy Yankees 1Bman whose name I can't spell, Cashman, and perhaps Girardi.
I have a problem. We always eat lunch at 1:00 and my Ys fan spouse can't stand listening to Francessa. Is there any way to tape the open? I have a small Sony cassette recorder, which would work if I could only find the right cable, but I can't. I have tried the RealPlayer Record this Video option and all I get is an ad. Anyone know how to record this damned thing onto your computer?

Failing that, I'd enjoy summaries.

Mets doing great, only one NY team in big trouble right now. Declares debate on Mo's future is on - looks very vulnerable, lost 2 games, lefties are even owning him....

I believe I've diagnosed your problem...

Anyway, download a program called Audacity (I forget the company that makes it, just google it) - I've used it plenty of times and it's great for recording online radio. Turn the volume up when you record, though, because it comes through a little soft when you replay it.

If this is indeed the beginning of the end for Rivera, (and it may not be) I can't wait for Yankee fans to start calling up all hailing Joba as "The Successor." I'm sorry, but Joba ain't no Mariano. It's going to take a bible full of work for Joba to even sniff Rivera's ghost.
