His stance today is more on that baseball will have a problem if something comes out on Ortiz. But he gets very irate when people suggest that Jeter who has had some good years late in his career off a down year (like Ortiz) is beyond suspicion.
Someone else brought up "did Pettitte get this scrutiny when he was pitching good games in his 40's?" and Francesa answers, no but he wasn't about win the MVP of the World Series" Interesting answer about a guy who won more post-season games than anyone in history.JohntheBaptist said:
Wow, that's amazing. The argument he's making is that the era taints your perception of these guys, and when they do what Ortiz has done, you have to be more suspicious, blah blah blah.
The Yankee fan turning into a 9 year old kid when they talk about Derek Jeter is just too fucking much though. Sorry, you want to tread that path, that's what comes with it Big Guy.

However, to his credit he did mention to a MFY caller that MFY fans did cheer for Giambi when he hit 2 hrs off Pedro, knowing he was juiced up. And they (MFY fans) are just as hypocritical as Sox fans cheering for Ortiz.
As an aside, I heard an ad for a special dinner hosted by Francesa: "A Dinner with Andy Pettitte"
No conflict of interests there.
It was to his credit in that Francesa believes Ortiz was/is a PED user, and he called out the MFY fan for hypocrisy.drleather2001 said:
"To his credit"? That's some serious false equivalency bullshit right there.
Giambi was (*clearly*) juicing at the time he hit those homeruns. He admitted in a grand jury testimony that he was on steroids during the 2003 season. Yankees fans continued to cheer for him after word of this got out, and after his infamous 2005 Apology for Nothing in Particular. If not for Bonds and McGwire, Giambi would have been the face of steroids in baseball.
Ortiz was on a list of unconfirmed (!) PED users in 2003, ten years ago. He has denied using since, and has never been caught through the testing program.
I am not saying that David Ortiz is 100% clean, or has always been clean. But claiming that rooting for David Ortiz in 2013 is the same as rooting for Jason Giambi from 2003-2007 is just disingenuous and moronic.
