He already went off on the Jets yesterday morning on his NFL Now show. He thinks they actually should stay together one more year and hire Norv Turner to be the offensive coordinator so they can give Sanchez a shot with a real offense. If it doesn't work, then they should blow it up in his opinion. So assuming he's back from the holiday, this should be an epic day, no -- with the Jets and Giants and millions of light years that separate the two?
How many effing coordinators can they go through before the realize the coordinators haven't been the problem? He already went off on the Jets yesterday morning on his NFL Now show. He liked the signing. Said something along the lines of: "I always liked Youkilis. He's a gamer."Has anyone heard what Francesca had to say about Youkilis becoming a Yankee?
The Giants weren't coming off a Super Bowl win that year, so that was worse.NY friends --
What is the big fella's take on your 2012 NYG? This has to be as painful as that Eagles defeat that knocked them out of the playoffs a few years ago - remember the punt that should have out of bounds? -- maybe even more so.,
This morning he thought they had a pretty good chance to get in to the post-season, saying the only tough game would be the Bears/Lions. (he dismissed the 4-team parlay, 8% probability) He also noted that if they didn't get into the post-season they had a "pass", because they won it all last year.NY friends --

If you think about it, the Bears had just as bad a second half of the season: they were 7-1 at one point, and went 3-5 to miss out on the playoffs. This morning he thought they had a pretty good chance to get in to the post-season, saying the only tough game would be the Bears/Lions. This morning he said the Nicks injury changed everything. Couldn't go deep to Nicks anymore and it allowed defenders to key in more on Cruz. He also had harsh words for the defensive line. Considering what the rush should be, he said it was abominable this season. The lack of a pass rush exposed how bad the secondary is (He singled out Corey Webster). Could go deep from start to finish against the Giants. He gave some blame to Eli, but mainly placed it on the Nicks injury and the D-Line underachieving.NY friends --

Mike HATES the Patriots, Bob Kraft and especially Bill Belichick. Every chance he gets he puts them down. Honestly, though, I wouldn't take his comments about their drafts seriously, because he's such a casual NFL fan. I doubt he could name more than ten players on the team. You think he knows who Zoltan Mesko is? Not a chance. I remember at the beginning of last year he talked about "the Patriots two tight ends--Hernandez and the other guy." No joke.He seems to have a huge blind spot w/r/t the Pats - every time they come up, he dismisses their success since '04, and he keeps saying their drafting has not been good recently. Where does he think all these players (Leaf, Gronk, Spikes, Mayo, McCourty, Jones, Hightower, Ridley, Solder, Vollmer, Wendell, Connolly, Edelman, Mesko, Love) came from? Their roster has been almost completely turned over from the '01-'08 era.
I wouldn't otherwise mention it, but he constantly harangues their drafting. And the 'no SB since '04!!!' is, of course, misleading.
Actually, from what I've seen on ESPN and a few other places, this has been the norm- RG3 should play until he can't and that Shanny was right.I turned it off 15 seconds in. Wow. Francesa totally dismissing Shanahan's critics, on the basis that: (a) you can't sit a star like RG3 who says he can play, this is how it works, he'll resent the coach forever, etc. (b) you can't tell him Cousins would have won that game for the Redskins.
Basically, we're MMQBing. It was a 'tough situation'. I guess because it's hard, it's ok? He also says it was up to the doctors...I guess Mike was living under a media rock this weekend.
I was referring to his analysis of the medical staff's purview in that situation. He realizes Shanahan previously shielded RG3 from Andrews, who came out this past week and said he never saw - much less cleared - RG3, and that he was worried about the player going forward on the knee, right? No, it appears he doesn't.Actually, from what I've seen on ESPN and a few other places, this has been the norm- RG3 should play until he can't and that Shanny was right.
