No chance BB gives him a raise not at 33. I hope this doesn't signal the end of Trey Flowers with the Patriots.Interesting. PFT reports he wants a raise.

No chance BB is trading for a headache. So something has to give.No chance BB gives him a raise not at 33. I hope this doesn't signal the end of Trey Flowers with the Patriots.
Flowers was never coming back unless he was willing to take a discount anyway. If he’s still willing to, he’ll be back. You can cut 94 and add Bennett for just 3 million in cap space anyway. Talk about a massive upgrade. Please don't let this mean Flowers is gone.
True and true. It's a really nice consolation prize.Flowers was never coming back unless he was willing to take a discount anyway. If he’s still willing to, he’ll be back. You can cut 94 and add Bennett for just 3 million in cap space anyway.
Could the team trade for him, then restructure his contract with a signing bonus to free up cap space this year but include a team option for the next year in the new contract, then decline the option next year and pick up a comp when he signs as a free agent somewhere else? Basically trade (draft pick this year + salary space next year) for (a good player this year + a draft pick in two years).Bennett's 2 years are both non-guaranteed. No dead money either year.
Right but Bennett does some of his business on the inside as well, and if teams are willing to go to 17 for Flowers (Miami?), we’re likely done here. The Patriots have a need to beef up the DL. I don't see Bennett and Flowers as being an either/or, especially since Flowers does much of his business coming up the middle
You need to actually click on the link as it works through youtubeThe league got it taken down.
I'm not sure, but I don't think that passes the smell test. Bennett certainly wouldn't agree to this.Could the team trade for him, then restructure his contract with a signing bonus to free up cap space this year but include a team option for the next year in the new contract, then decline the option next year and pick up a comp when he signs as a free agent somewhere else? Ah, thanks. You need to actually click on the link as it works through youtube
I don't see why they couldn't. They are allowed to restructure.I'm not sure, but I don't think that passes the smell test. Bennett certainly wouldn't agree to this.
Every time BB makes a trade, the initial report on picks is wrong or incomplete, it’s amazing.Adam SchefterVerified account @AdamSchefter 2m2 minutes ago
If the Michael Bennett-to-New-England trade is finalized - and it is expected to be - Patriots and Eagles will swap 5th- and 7th-round picks in the 2020 draft, per a league source. Eagles get a 5th; Pats get Bennett and a 7th.
Bring back Dan Gronkowski for the trifecta!Man, I thought Michael Bennett was a Patriot when Seattle decided to trade him. Better late than never.
Has there ever been an NFL team where it had TWO sets of brothers playing on the same roster?
We need Jason back as well for this to work.Bring back Dan Gronkowski for the trifecta!
The Philadelphia Eagles have informed Michael Bennett that they are planning to trade him to the New England Patriots, the defensive end told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Friday.
The terms of the deal are being finalized, a source confirmed to ESPN. The Philadelphia Inquirer was first to report that a trade was close to completion.
Bennett told NFL Network earlier Friday that he was looking for a pay raise. He has two seasons remaining on the three-year, $31.5 million contract extension he signed with the Seattle Seahawks
The 33-year-old Bennett told Anderson that coach Bill Belichick has been fond of his game.

Greg Schiano was not a fan of Michael Bennett when the two were in Tampa together. Schiano was very much "by the rules" and wanted players to stick to the scheme, while Bennett was known for being a free spirit and often freelancing up front. Big reason he wasn't re-signed.
That was a long time ago and Schiano isn't the boss this time around.Welp...

He still jumps offside a shit-ton. Wonder how BB will approach it.That was a long time ago and Schiano isn't the boss this time around.
DA has pushed the court date 6 or 7 times, now scheduled for March 27, 2019. Seems like the police chief came out hard on Bennett for PR reasons, then some partial footage that didn't back up the "witness" statement came out, and since then the DA has been desperately trying to avoid bringing it to court, but can't just drop it because that would be a story too. They're going to basically desk drawer this sucker for years with delays.Whatever happened to that weird assault case he had?
