Honestly not trying to bust your balls, but we do have an all purpose offseason moves thread. Trades involving swapping 4th OFs and RPs should probably go there.

That's who I figured they were shopping to us for JBJ. Wilhelmsen's fine, but not really closer-caliber (though he's done it). Not worth JBJ. If Martin returns to '13/14 form, he's useful.

What about for an everyday CF.

Yeah, my first thought was that's a steal for Seattle, unless the PTBNL is someone significant. Martin starts in CF, with Seth Smith probably in a platoon in RF and TBD in left. Franklin Guiterrez is their 4th OF.

Yeah, Martin is a starting quality CF, at least as valuable a guy as Rusnay Castillo, who I would be batshit if they traded for a middle reliever. And they gave up something else?

The PTBNL's at this point in the offseason are borderline 40 man roster guys who might end up selected as a rule 5. So the aquiring team wants the other team to bear that risk. If the agreed player is chosen in rule 5, they'll get a different one or wait to see if he's returned in the spring. It's not going to be a major piece though.
