That was after the Blues gave up the tying goal with 0.1 seconds remaining in the 3rd.

They really can't get healthy fast enough. It's a miracle they're tied for first in the Central.

Between here and everywhere.
Apparently PK was stretchered off the ice after taking a hit to the head from his own teammate.

Hate the laundry and all that. But PK is one of the good ones. Hope he's ok.

Flyers are beating the Red Wings 4-2 after 2. If the Flyers hang on, they'll be 1 point behind Detroit for the 2nd wild card spot, with 2 games in hand.

Philly regulation win is probably the best outcome for the B's. As long as the B's stay ahead of Detroit and in the top 3 of the Atlantic, Philly can do whatever the hell they want.

The Wings are also at 24 years and counting for consecutive playoff appearances.
5 more and they would tie the Bruins' record of 29 straight playoff seasons from 1967-68 to 1995-96.
This is also tops among NFL, MLB, and NBA teams.

So, go Philly (but not too much).

Pittsburgh/Philly just started. Always fun when these two get together in big games. The Flyers enter the game 4 points behind Pittsburgh with a game in hand. Pittsburgh is without Malkin for the rest of the season.

The other important games for the B's today are DET @ FLA and TB @ ARZ.

Decent off night for the B's as the Flyers only get 1 point, and the Red Wings get blown out by the Lightning. B's now 3 points up on Detroit with the same amount of games left, and the same amount on Philly with Philly having one game in hand.

Gotta get back to it tomorrow night.

If the priority is getting into the playoffs, then the Tampa win was huge. Detroit is the only team that can knock the Bruins out. Stay ahead of Detroit and we're fine. Worry about seeding later.

I think the priorities are:

1. Make the playoffs
2. Avoid Washington until the ECF

Detroit losing helps both of those goals. Ergo, hooray Tampa.

Bingo.

The best outcome, IMO, is Tampa winning the division and the Bruins ending up in the 2/3 with Florida. But we'll worry about the seeding later. The mission over the next 9 games is staying ahead of Detroit.

What has Washington ever done in the Ovechkin era besides get knocked out in the first or second round? I can't believe how many fans would like to see their team avoid them. I'd love to play them again.

Not been coached by Barry Trotz, that's what. They also have knocked the B's out in the first round. I want nothing to do with them.

Meh. He's never been out of the second round either, and a couple of those Predators teams were very very good.

I wasn't exactly familiar with Boston's struggles against Washington, though. I guess it would be similar to how I'd feel if Pittsburgh had to play Boston again.

If it helps Wings fans are Nancying all over here. It doesn't unless the B's stop pulling a last year but there's not a ton of confidence to go around. Especially since Mason has to carry the Flyers and someone has to carry the Wings.

This is brilliant. I mean Kuznetzov, 4th in assists and 5th in points was invisible all those times!!

Well, if it helps, the Bruins did still control their destiny. Their penultimate game is at home vs. Detroit.

Also, because I'm petty, Philadelphia and Detroit both won tonight, which officially eliminated Les Canadiens de Montréal from playoff contention. Huzzah.

But that's still crazy. Not only will all the Canada-based teams be eliminated before the playoffs, but likely with a week plus to spare.

What the fuck Duncan Keith! He should get the rest of the regular season off and maybe a playoff game or two. That was a fucking disgrace.
