I think this is a good list, but I believe there's at least one omission: 8) is there enough here to interest the government in launching a probe?
The NFL will bury this, because apart from DFG, BountyGate, and to a lesser extent, the cap stuff with the Cowboys and Skins, that's what it does. "Consistency" (#4) is a complete joke - the league didn't take any meaningful action against the Broncos for cap stuff, or against multiple other teams/players for ball inflation stuff.
But independent oversight is something the NFL desperately wants to avoid, even to the extent of having Goodell make up new charges against Brady to provide additional substance to his court case and appeal. If the feds step in, the most nervous party won't be Peyton, Keller or Mike Neal - it'll be Czar Roger.
Personally, that would suit me just fine - and if Peyton (and/or Keller, and/or the sainted Pack) end up as collateral damage, so much the better.
