Mack Herron dead at 67

Before becoming a Patriot, Herron starred in the Canadian Football League for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Even though he wasn't playing for my favourite team, he was still a favourite to watch. Glad I was able to cheer for him as a Patriot. Here is an obit written in Winnipeg.

I did not realize that for awhile Mack Herron owned the NFL All-Purpose Yards in a Season record having beaten out Gale Sayers.

That's too bad, loved that mid to late 70's Patriots team, drove me crazy rooting for them, they make me appreciate the current version for sure.

That was the first season I paid attention to the NFL. Naturally the Pats were my favorite and Mack was amazing that year. We should wear the throwbacks (I think they might've been banned?) this week in honor of miniMack. Might break the mini slump we're in too.

Throwbacks aren't banned (see the Bears last weekend?), teams can't wear two different helmets (it's ok to remove decals) and the Pats don't want to wear the current helmet with the old unis.
