These apparently no longer really exist except for a LG 24” version. The issue is I need it to have a center stand, not two legs.
Can I use a random computer monitor as a TV to play YouTube TV/Apple TV+/Netflix? How’s that work without any keyboards or whatever.
If the center stand is a dealbreaker, why not a cheap VESA universal mount/stand? A quick Amazon search revealed
this model under $30.
I normally recommend buying a dumb television and using your own steaming box, but for the size/price range you’re looking at, it may not be worth the headache. I’d rather buy a $25 stand for a cheap smart TV than a $50 dongle for a dumb computer monitor that probably doesn’t have good sound.
For those more knowledgeable than me, would the lack of a factory remote be an issue with a computer monitor? I don’t think monitors have CEC, but I’m not sure.
EDIT: monitors usually have terrible viewing angles (you’re supposed to sit directly in front of them) so that’s another thing to consider.
