Yeah my good feeling right now will be gone Sunday when they sign him and Chris Kunitz.Rumor is Jack a Johnson maybe
Straight from the old countryRumor is Jack a Johnson maybe
Seems to have legs with all the PGH media guys so I assume it's happening and it's fucking horrifying.Maybe Greg or someone more familiar with the Pens beat can confirm the legitimacy, but I got this retweeted by a bunch of hockey people I follow. Seems like a Post-Gazette writer.
Jack Johnson signing a 5/$16 million deal with the Pens on Sunday.
This surprises me, apparently he's from Montreal. Why he jumped away from his hometown team...I don't know if this belongs here, but...
"21 year old QMJHL defenseman Olivier Galipeau signs one year deal AHL deal with Bruins. Was expected at Canadiens camp."
Are they not considering McIntyre for the job? He had a decent year in Providence. Instead of committing multiple years to some journeyman backup why not see if this guy can play in the NHL first?Carter Hutton looks to be going to BUF. Bernier to DET. Cam Ward to CHI. All three were connected with the Bruins' backup goalie spot at some point. Dobby reportedly looking for $2.5 a year right now.
It is. Especially for anything over a one year deal. He got hot for six games in November where he only gave up 11 goals and had a .944 save percentage, but in his other 24 starts he was .902 with a 2.70 GAA. He wasn’t a horrible backup in that stretch by any means but he wasn’t good enough to give that kind of deal too when you have a kid in Providence that you drafted and developed that could probably do that for $650k.$2.5 for Khudobin is horrifying
The only problem I have with this is it leaves little wiggle room in case of an injury at G. Only other goalies at Prov are Binnington and Vladar, neither of which I’d feel comfortable bringing up in case of emergency. Are there any other goalies in the Bruins system I’m forgetting? Are they not considering McIntyre for the job? He had a decent year in Providence. If they go with McIntyre as the backup they should sign an AHL veteran goalie to a minor league deal that can come up and back up if there’s a day to day injury to Rask or McIntyre. If there is longer term injury than make a trade to bring a goalie in.The only problem I have with this is it leaves little wiggle room in case of an injury at G. That wording would imply to me that the Islanders are getting the first call to thank them for their time, but that he's going elsewhere, no?Taveras will be making his decision later this morning with NYI getting the first call per Fourth Period on Twitter.
Yeah, looks like a good salary dump move for the Peg that allows them to retain a player they really need for depth down the middle.Seems the Habs have come to the conclusion that they will suck again, seems like a nice deal on their end. They could buy Mason out. Add him to the possible Bruins backups list.
This seems to clear the way for Stastny to return to Winnipeg.
That’s what I’d think too but who knows. That wording would imply to me that the Islanders are getting the first call to thank them for their time, but that he's going elsewhere, no?
That's a bad contract. In 2024-25 San Jose will be paying:David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod 2h2 hours ago
The SJ Sharks and Logan Couture have finalized an eight-year, $64M contract extension. Done deal, to be officially official tomorrow.
From what I can gather, most teams offered him 7-84M at $12m per year. I believe the maximum salary next year would be at least $14-15m per year. That would get him a $98-105m contract. Maybe that’s what they mean? Could only imagine the Islanders doing that, but tough to get any clear picture of what is going on. Tavares’ Camp is locked up tight.I can’t read that tweet. But it’s hard to imagine money being the deciding factor. Everyone is already offering significant contracts compared to other elite players. The only thing that makes sense is some kind of one year deal and extension shenanigan with Toronto.
