Once something is under investigation, I don’t think the team can do anything, like sending him down or releasing him. I know they are not allowed to release him while he’s suspended.

Thanks! Sad for his family. We don't know what precipitated the investigation or who may have been hurt. Regardless, good to see MLB take a hard stand. The Yankees just follow suit with the proverbial legal disclaimer.
As a middle reliever and an interchangeable part, likely he has thrown his last pitch in MLB, at the very least for the Yankees.
