O talent is ok depending on how the QB plays. Defense except for Dline is tough to get a handle on. CB is the main weakness.Their over under is enticing on its face, though they really lack talent.

I think Saleh will be as good as Flores has been in Miami. He will take a team with nothing and turn it into something.Their over under is enticing on its face, though they really lack talent.
This is beautiful manI'm going to let you in on a little fact. I have never made an over/under bet for a team in the NFL. But this year, I have laid a very, very large stack on the Jets over. I love Saleh and I think he can bring a winning culture to this team of formerly disreputable morons. Gase is really the devil. Getting rid of him is going to bring massive changes.
So I believe. I am a Jet fan.
Where do you think the Jets finish in the division?I think Saleh will be as good as Flores has been in Miami. He will take a team with nothing and turn it into something.
Of course, that could be the bet talking. But I like him. Coaching matters. Gase was the ultimate clown show.
saleh is gonna pressure the QB and turn your crap CBs into average ones with it.O talent is ok depending on how the QB plays. Defense except for Dline is tough to get a handle on. CB is the main weakness.
Never said it wasn't. My observation was that the level of scrutiny of QB performances early in training camp is silly. This writer trying to stir things up, Manish Mehta-style, by reporting those "results" from the first or second day of camp was being ridiculous. I don't blame Jets fans for being defensive, but take a breath. This was prior to Zach, c’mon man.
The Jets handed him a 3 year deal worth $45 mil, $30 mil guaranteed, to pry him from Cincinnati in the offseason. To put it in perspective, the Pats gave Judon a 4 year deal worth $54.5 mil, with $32 mil guaranteed. However one may feel about Lawson as a player, clearly the Jets valued him quite highly and had some big plans for him, and all accounts say he looked great in camp (fwiw). So this has to be a pretty rough development from their perspective, to say the least.View: https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1428459325123670020?s=20
I was under the impression Lawson was a good to very good but not great player.
Now that he is out for the year he is being treated like an elite player lost.
Is his loss now really big enough to derail a season, or is it just an excuse for the J-E-T-S to tote out when it happens anyway?
From today's Boston Globe. The Jets are losing pass rushers left and right. First they lost Carl Lawson, their big-ticket free agent signing in March, for the season to a torn Achilles’. Then this past week they lost veteran Vinny Curry for the season because of complications from a rare blood disorder. The Jets are scouring the other 31 teams for help on the edge, with John Franklin-Myers (five sacks in two seasons) and Bryce Huff (two sacks in one season) penciled in as starters
Why didn’t Wilson get any snaps this week? I mean I get preserving your starters and all but he is a rookie, I would think he could use all
the snaps he can get.
Got it, thanksI don’t know if it was plan since starting LT and LG were not playing or if he was a late scratch because of field conditions after weird storm.
@luckiestman probably has it right but there handling of snaps for Wilson has been a bit weird during the preseason. They have treated him like a vet who doesn't need the reps, not a rookie who should be getting all the game speed reps they possibly can.Why didn’t Wilson get any snaps this week? I have no way to really judge how to view preseason compared to all these joint practices they are doing. The qb has been a lot better than I expected but these games don’t count. He is calmer in the pocket than Sam was by a lot. I watched Darnold the other night because I want to see him succeed and it’s the same guy..some good things but some questionable mechanics still. It is not helping him that the Panthers oline could not block.@luckiestman probably has it right but there handling of snaps for Wilson has been a bit weird during the preseason. With that said, from the "highlights" I have seen I think he looks the best of the 5 round 1 QBs.
Seems like a strong take. I don’t care either way. Hurt my enjoyment of the last game not seeing him but I didn’t have to worry about him getting hurt in a meaningless game.He should be getting every snap possible, who gives a shit if it shortchanges the guys behind him a few series? There is no question he will start because there’s no viable competition and they’ve bet the next 3-4 years on this guy, so act accordingly.
To clarify, I’m not advocating him playing behind JAG OL fodder in the fourth quarter or else, but in the era of tightly controlled practice schedules (two a days plus are dead) I think it’s wild that he is sitting a preseason game altogether. He isn’t, to our knowledge, hurt, and he isn’t a late career John Elway you need to manage to keep him upright by December. Guy needs reps.Seems like a strong take. I don’t care either way. I mean ok but football players have to play football and getting game reps even in the preseason is important. Especially at QB…Seems like a strong take. I don’t care either way. I mentioned it earlier but it’s not 100%, they were having trouble with the field right before the game and I think that is why they scratched Wilson:To clarify, I’m not advocating him playing behind JAG OL fodder in the fourth quarter or else, but in the era of tightly controlled practice schedules (two a days plus are dead) I think it’s wild that he is sitting a preseason game altogether. The hype on Moore is outlandish but he hasn’t played in the games. If he lives up to his hype the WR unit will be very good as Davis and Crowder are good and Cole/Mims/Berrios or one of the other guys is good depth. Probably our deepest unit even if we lack a truly elite guy (which the hype on Moore out of camp is that he could be elite).I mean ok but football players have to play football and getting game reps even in the preseason is important. I would like to ask you about the Jets offense. What can you tell us about the WR battle? What about the line and the running backs? Your team has 3 people who were binkies of mine: Carter, Mims, and Elijah Moore. How do they look? I think the injuries and personnel on defense is wanting so I’m more interested in how the offense is shaping up. That offense could be loaded if picks pan out.
He will start if healthy or at least play a lot. He had minor injuryThank you @luckiestman for the information. I’m curious why Moore hasn’t been in games and if that means he won’t start. The left side of the line should be really good. Running it behind AVT and MB could pay dividends…
Reminded me of Favre. Shows that the physical tools are there for this kid.Wilson had a fairly rough game today overall, although he got very little help from his offensive line.
But this throw was pretty ridiculous.

That line is gonna get him killed. The question is will he still be standing when Becton returnsWilson is going to be good. If he lives
Becton was nothing to write home about yesterday, he was awful in pass protection and the Jets didn't run to his side (which I didn't understand). Somehow moving Fant to LT and letting Moses play RT worked better than when Becton was in the game. I thought Moses should have been playing over Fant at RT anyway. Still a work in progress. That line is gonna get him killed. The question is will he still be standing when Becton returns
agreed it was the worst type of pressure for a QB, interior pocket pressure. Almost nothing Wilson could do on a lot of plays.Becton was nothing to write home about yesterday, he was awful in pass protection and the Jets didn't run to his side (which I didn't understand). edit: just to be clear, I agree with your main point, just think right now that the interior line is a bigger problem than the Tackles.
Agreed 100%. Yet another season where the line is a major problem. Douglas doesn’t like to spend money on the free agent market for linemen but I think this offseason he’s gonna have to. Oline really sucks. Center and RG have not worked outthe jets have a underrated def they just need a o-line and a te and some CB and u guys couild win 8-9 games next season
Why do you have to be so figurative? But other than all that, you guys look really solid.
To be fair he used a 1st and 4th last year on linemen (and Becton looks like a beast) and both are on IR. Also used a top 15 pick on a guy this year, so a bit early to see how he'll turn out surrounded by garbage. So he's invested in what he hopes should be 3/5 of his line...and injuries have short circuited it.Wasn’t the biggest selling point for Douglas back before he was hired that his specialty was building offensive lines? If this area is his specialty I am decidedly unimpressed

yeah, I'm trying to figure that number out, because the Patriots are top half of the league in (lowest) pressure% allowed, and middle of the pack in hits/hurries. So is it just that the Patriots are making a lot more quick throws? If so I wouldn't call it "having" x seconds, because it is counting quick throws with good pockets as a negative. Overall seems like it's not a particularly useful stat. What is really needed is just a straight, pocket collapse stat. All you're really doing with the stat as constructed is measuring how heavily the offense relies on quick throws/how much your QB holds it.For comparison, Mac Jones has had 1.3 seconds but has had less pressures or hurries based on %
