I don't see it this way.  To me it would seem awkward to make the two new stars share a stage.  Inevitably, they would get different types and numbers of questions from the reporters, which creates potential for hurt feelings and a bad first impression.  Safer to break them up.  You put a few hours between them so Panda can fully savor his moment and not feel like the warm-up act.  
 
Nothing to see here except the FO trying to avoid upsetting either new guy on day one.

This was from the 2015 Red Sox thread, but this was posted before the first delay. It's now looking like delayed again and still no corresponding DFA to make room for HR. It's looking more and more to me like a trade is imminent.

Likely so.  My guess is someone in the deal has not been informed as yet and they are trying to locate that person.
