Whole D
Pharoah
Zeke? Maybe Baringer?

The rest of the offense was bad, and Ryland should make the 48 yarder

Spot on. And BB or SB for the defensive game plan, which was excellent.

Any road division win is a good one. Especially when you’re 0-2.

Best game of the season for the OL*. Running for 157 yards against that D is an accomplishment. Wonder how much getting Calvin Anderson off the field helped.

OL play def. slipped once Strange and Onwenu went out tho. I suspect some of the poor second half offense was due to that.

Thus far the OL issues look like communication/continuity issues. If they could stay healthy and work together, I think it could be a solid unit.

The Jets held Josh Allen and the Bills (who have scored 38 and 37 points in their last two games, respectively) to 16 points and 314 yards and got 4 turnovers.

The Pats scored 13 points and gained 358 yards without turning it over against this defense.

It's frustrating how inconsistent the officiating was. That game was closer than it deserved to be because of it. Can't imagine BB is too happy.

You know who was really bad today? Romo.

Elliot, Gonzalez, Judon and the rush.

I still think this team can be a double digit win team this year if it comes together.

No game ball to the zebras.

TIL that a defensive back can smack a receiver in the helmet while not looking back for the ball… and not be called for DPI.

The Defense aside from losing concentration on the one Jets drive. Ryland for hitting some long FGs (the misses seemed more operation based and not strictly on him).

Yes, but still not much to build on except the defense.
Ok so maybe name some defensive players who got game balls.

I give it to:

1) Gonzo who looks like a bona fide lockdown corner. Sure he was going against Zach but you can only face the QBs on the schedule.

2) Schooler. Slater is mentoring him and ready to officially pass the torch soon. I love special teams studs

3) Judon ate. Love me some red sleeves

HM to Pharoah. Congrats on the biggest play of your career

Some of the negativity here is off base, I think. The Pats aren't likely to be much better than league average, and they just won a road game in lousy weather against a non-terrible Jets team by shutting down some of their real weapons. It was far from perfect, but the Pats absolutely needed this win, and they got it. Some terrible calls and non-calls made this a bit closer than it had to be and the Jets had one good drive on offense. Other than that, pretty solid work by most of the team.

Gonzo has been outstanding. If anyone, he deserves one.

The take that they only won 15-10 against the Zach Wilson Jets is idiotic. Zach Wilson doesn’t play safety. No, the offense is not good, but holding an NFL offense to 10 is fantastic, and the Jets D is still good, regardless of who plays QB

To this point...

Here's the team's points scored when Zach Wilson has played in an NFL game:

14, 6, 0, 27, 20, 13, 34, 30, 17, 17, 21, 18, 9, 24, 26, 24, 10, 9, 31, 12, 24, 40, 27, 16, 17, 20, 3, 31, 22, 12, 17, 3, 6, 6, 22, 10, 6

So in 25 NFL games played, opponents have held Zach Wilson's team to 6 or fewer points 7 times. Now that's a lot, but that means that 18 out of 25 times (72%), Zach's team managed to score more than 6 points. In fact, they scored 20+ points 16 times out of 25 games (64%), and 6 or fewer just 7 times (28%).

So holding his team to 6 points or fewer is still a really good job by the Pats' D. With, mind you, not a lot of help from their own offense or special teams.

Agree completely, other than the Jets scored 10. But it was a good performance by the D

Peppers deserves a game ball for coming up with huge tackles in key situations. I'm becoming a big fan. The Pharaoh TD was classic misdirection. I just wish he wore a traditional OL number to make the fans even angrier on that waddle score. Such a fun play.

The Pats D allowed 10 points (and got 2 back) on 12 drives, not counting the final possession. Even if this were the #1 ranked defense vs the #32 ranked offense, you can't realistically hope for more than that.

How many times did Mac get sacked today? Zero. That means that the o-line played pretty damn good against a really good defensive line. It also means that Mac did a pretty good job getting the ball out quickly

The D did their job well, which was to shut down a lousy offense. Every unit did their job.

Also kudos to Barringer, who did a nice job keeping the Jets in poor field position.

The Pharoah.

Game ball to basically everyone but the WRs and Cole Strange. Mac made some really good throws today. If you give him guys that actually, you know, run routes and get open this wouldn’t have been close.

Pharoah for showing a little more wiggle and over-the-shoulder slickness than I would think a blocking 3rd string TE would.

Gonzo for covering another elite WR like a blanket. He was, once again, tested over and over and passed with flying colors.

Zeke for moving the pile and finding the cracks.

OL for playing through injuries (?) to keep the chains moving-ish when they needed to.

Jabril "Julius" Peppers for showing up on D and S/T. )Hat tip, Jim Nantz for "Julius." Moron.)

QUESTION #1: Is Hunter Henry okay?

QUESTION #2: Really good player, like the guy, but is Kyle Dugger showing up ELITE enough to justify a big $$$ contract?

Some things to build on offensively against a very good defense, but still too many stupid mistakes. Loved the performance by the D but holy hell Zach Wilson is terrible. I mean, just absolutely terrible. Whatever issues Mac has at least he can play a little bit, and actually looked pretty good in stretches today.

Game Balls:

Gonzalez, Judon, Pharoah, Elliott and Peppers

Down 3 of our better corners and you never would have known. Defense has been masterful this year.
Game balls to Gonzo, Judon, Peppers, Dugger and the D coaches.

Henry was on the field for the free kick per Reiss, so presumably ok.

Christian Gonzalez' stats in coverage are way worse than I would have imagined. Going into today:

16-22 (72.7%), 171 yds, 7.8 yds/tgt, 1 td, 1 int, 91.3 rating

Of course he's been covering Brown, Smith, Waddle, and Hill, and then today, Wilson (these stats don't reflect today).

Yeah seems like the offensive problems were largely the receivers running the wrong route even though people are going to blame Mac because that is what they like to do. The most egregious one has to be JuJu running up the field on an obvious rub route where Mac throws to the flat. JuJu is trending to be a worse FA acquisition than Jonnu.
