Any time any two sides from the Balkans face each other you just know something's going to happen...

Serbia v Albania

Read the ESPN piece by Nick Ames before heading off to his Twitter feed @NickAmes82 but don't read from the top of the feed, head down a few hours to the point where he talks about heading off to the match.

They are all completely bonkers.

You've got Stevie May up front too...he's a slippery little bastard with a nose for the net.

He's the player I wanted Celtic to sign, I thought  he could have been as good as Hooper. Certainly better than most of the strikers they have signed in the last 3 years.

3 goals in 7 games for Sheffield according to wiki.

I think this link has the video, or it had been updated.

Shocking to think there would be trouble when you have a team made up mostly of Kosovars playing in Serbia, where their independence isn't recognized and it is less than 15 years since they tried to exterminate them in a horrific genocide.

Edit- though to be fair the Serbian fans are scum at all times. Notable examples being against Croatia, England, and well just about every home match they've ever had.

Holy hell the new ESPN page is completely useless if you want to look at the qualifying tables.

Schedules are even worse. To look at a team's schedule and/or results, you have to click through month-by-month, and there is no link to the game recap.

Welcome to the mobile first era!  The CMS rules all.

Alexis Sanchez is putting on a clinic against Bolivia.  He had one break where he dribbled past two guys who were just trying to rugby tackle him.  And yet Bolivia leads near the end of the first half.

He's been better than that total...Wednesday's creative CMs have been out for a while so May is getting shit for service. I think it's also an adjustment to the Championship from St Johnstone. I like what I see and he's still pretty young.

And just for the record, Sheffield is Sheffield FC...we'll go by Wednesday if you're going to use a one name moniker.

If you have BeIn Sports, it would be well worth DVRing the replay of Chile-Bolivia.  There's a lot of hate in this matchup.  Guys are taking swings at each other and the ref does nothing.

I mean, besides the red card.

Here's a link to the recent Football Focus interview Keano did with Kevin Kilbane, it's the 20 minute unedited version.

It'll probably get taken down on Friday, cos they tend to keep em up for a week...it is a must watch, especially since he's now shaved his magnificent beard.

My highlight. When asked what he'd do if he bumped into Fergie...Keano says: I'd probably have a go at him.

Legend.

The Keane - Ferguson relationship fascinates me.  Two stubborn guys who refuse to admit they were wrong after having such a successful period together.  There are a few people calling for Keane to manage United one day (I believe one paper had an article about it either yesterday or today) but as long as Ferguson is alive, Keane won't be welcome back.  I mean to be honest I don't think he's shown much as a manager anyway but I don't think he'd get a sniff anyway.

Gah. Can't, have hockey practice.

Anyone who has not either been to the Banshee or hoisted a few pints with Rip (or both), should join him.

I know what ugly-ass shirt I'll wear to work on Friday.

Good game. Scotland are playing some decent stuff. Loving this Kid Roertson on the left wing. Young, fearless and fuckin fast.

Long fifteen mins to go.
Reminded me of the goal he scored for Wigan against Manchester United a few seasons ago.

I knew it would be blood and thunder but I never realized Ireland were such a bunch of hammer throwers.

Not much natural width down the right for Scotland. Gibralter in March should fatten up the GD. Poland sure look good.

I keep saying Ikechi Anya would sure look good in hoops.

They'll be singing and dancing in the streets of Torshavn tonight....hard to believe Greece won this competition 10 years ago.

Still NFL gridiron lines visible on the pitch at Wembley, and a Jags logo at midfield, for the England-Slovenia match. Locals can't be happy about that...

San Marino had lost 61 matches in a row before today. This was their first point ever in Euro qualifying.

They only have a single win in their history, 1-0 in a friendly 10 years ago against Liechtenstein. They are tied with Bhutan at 208th (last) in the FIFA world rankings.
