TB got the timeout back that they used before the hands to the face penalty was called. Bowles was either confused and forgot he had a timeout, or basically the coaches agreed to concede on the kneel down?

It’s entirely possible that TB just relayed to DET that they wouldn’t take the timeout, to get the kneel down over with quicker. Hence why DET was snapping the ball with time on the clock.

The scoreboard graphic on the Goff interview has 1 timeout for TB.

A miss or even better a block and who knows? OK Todd, whatever you want.

During the celebration you can see the in stadium scoreboard showing that the Bucs still had one time out.

Both coaches thought all the timeouts were out is all I can think.
Yeah you have to think Goff believed Tampa was out of timeouts or he wouldn't have kneeled with 15 on the clock. I could have sworn Vinovich announced the timeout would be returned at the time of the penalty.

No matter how one spins it. TB either didn't realize they had a timeout, forgot, or conceded the game with time left.

The last one is the worst.

I have to think either the timeout after that penalty was not in fact returned, or the scoreboard in the stadium didn't mark it as returned and both coaches thought TB had zero.

With 1:33 left the Lions could have run out the clock pretty easily even if Tampa used the time out. They could have run a rollout on fourth down to burn any last seconds remaining. So maybe Tampa just signaled they were good.

It's been a long time since I've heard this many cliches after the game.

Of course, it's been a long time since I've listed to anything post-game.

Happy for the Lions fans, but if they hadn’t won they would have been just fine reminiscing about Jim Northrup’s triple off of Bob Gibson in game 7 to win the ‘68 World Series.

We’re still doing this, right?

It’s the playoffs. Crazier shit has happened. You make them play every last second. This is unforgivable.

I remember when Romo used to predict plays! He was so good in the beginning.

Sorry, it's international law that that gets stated in every game Romo announces.

What was interesting in pointing out that the Lions fans suffering is not offset by other teams in and around Michigan winning title?
Also, the Pistons last won in 2004 and the Red Wings in 2008. And the Tigers in 1984.

Detroit isn't a place where they have had any sporting success in a very long time. So not only was it stupid and dismissive, but also wrong. Perfect combo.

Bills fans have to be like 2003 Red Sox fans. Terrified but hopeful, ready to say here we go again anytime at the drop of a hat.
