In half the non Pats games I’ve watched this year the dilly dilly ads were the only reason to watch the NFL.
Anybody who gets off on it that much can just loop them together on YouTube. No reason to suffer through bad games (Not today however -I LIKE the way this game is going)

Jags were so scared of allowing a FG that they gave up the TD. Nicely done.

So bizarre. You happily yield 3 points there. Happily.
Yeah, I think they wanted to cut off the 15 yard completion for a first down, but with the clock where it was Pitt was only getting maybe two shots after that, right? They'd have to go middle to get the first and spike it, and that'd kill half the clock.

Really strange defensive call.

Literally the only thing to do there is prevent the TD. If they get the first, they still need to clock the ball to kick a FG. What a horror show.

Regardless of today's outcome, I was surprised last week by how often Tyrod Taylor had open receivers, the presence of Ramsey, Bouye, etc. notwithstanding. It'll be really interesting to see how this one plays out.

Edit--sort of: With Fouts confidently asserting that Pittsburgh is back in this game, I feel like a Jags victory is pretty much destiny.

Hard to go into the halftime break up by two TDs and still feel like the other team has all the momentum.
It's weird---because if the Jags had merely stopped them at 21-7 they would have "momentum", but after going up 28-7 they let them right back in it.

Ben Is 14 points for and 14 against today. Not sure I would say the Steelers have all the momentum as Ben is a wildcard in the 2nd half as well

The guy who scored the touchdown, Telvin Smith, basically erased his own good play by the stupid taunting penalty, resulting in the Steelers getting the ball at midfield. If they don't start that drive at midfield, they don't go for it on fourth and 11.

Well, that and the squib kick.

It really annoys me that the panel calls Cowher "coach". So he was a coach, is he now a coach for life?

Why not call Nate "wide receiver"?

All things considered, Pitt goes from hypothetically tying the game before Jax touches the ball again to now needing scores and stops to win.

Still a very good spot, but damn, that play was as bad as Denver letting Jacoby Jones run past everyone.

It being fourth and long probably helped that happen. Suckered into protecting against 1st down and not touch down
Gutsy play call given the circumstances, they bit on it as you said and let him get behind the defense.

Those two turnovers are the difference in this game, it's far from over, going in up 21 would have been deflating for the Steelers.

Cue them coming out to start the second half, marching down the field for a TD, then Jacksonville going three and out and Pittsburg going down the field again for the game tying TD.

Then cue me smashing something into 10,000 pieces.

The squib kick was ok. If they had kicked off regular, Pitt probably gets the ball at the 45-50 anyway. Because of the penalty, they were kicking off from their 20 instead of the 35, and they were kicking into the wind. At best, the kicker was going to land that ball on the fly at the 20-25 yard line. The squib kick at least eliminates a long return.

I sort of get the line-drive kick. Fouts was dumbfounded that the guy didn't pound it deep, the he was kicking into the wind. Kicks in that direction were 10 yards or so shorter than going the other way. If he elevates a kick after the penalty positioning, he isn't going to get it much deeper than he did

They have 27 seconds, why the fuck are you that worried about giving up the first? Let then kick a field goal here, the only thing you can't do is allow them to throw over you head.
Apparently the sfaety was starring in a Southwest Airlines "Wanna Get Away" commercial.

If I'm the Jags, I'm worried about the rush not getting to the quarterback. There was one big play, obviously, but Sacksonville isn't getting much pressure consistently

Only once in Steelers playoffs history have they come back and won from a 14+ point halftime deficit: 1/15/11 against the Ravens, a 31-24 win. Pittsburgh is 1-6 overall when down 14+ after 30, with two games against the Pats (96, 04), with Ben specifically 1-3.

Edit: Forgot the TEBOW! game. Broncos aren't currently it, removed.

Those two td's that the Jags gave up were literally unconscionable. Especially, the second one. This game should be all over, for all intents and purposes. Just like the Steelers this year to be right in it.
