Yes, but why is Cleveland doing it?I think Chicago is doing the right thing here. Sink as low as you can this year, then build around Rose, Noah, Butler and hopefully a lottery pick. No sense in trying to remain competitive without a healthy Rose.

The Bulls aren't too far away from the slightly better than tankville teams so a 5-15 stretch could give them a decent chance in the lottery. It's too bad for them that Sacramento is still brutally bad. If they could've packaged their #1 pick and Sacramento's pick, they might have had a shot at a very high pick.

There comes a point where you have to stop losing and start winning. If Chris Grant weren't the worst drafter in the NBA the Cavs wouldn't be making the deal. Then again, they'd also be a top five team in the EC and not in line for a lottery pick. In any even they are now four games back of a team that's going into full blown tank mode for about the eighth time since Jordan retired and four and a half games out of the fifth seed. So given the injuries they actually do have a chance to make it to the second round so long as they finish fifth or sixth.

Hearing Clips are leaning away from trying to sign Andrew Bynum if he's released by Chicago. Too many issues regarding Bymum from Cleveland

BigSoxFan said:Wouldn't Brooklyn be a better landing spot for Bynum? They just lost Lopez so there's plenty of playing time available. This also is a team that desperately needs a talent infusion so getting Bynum for free would be a nice acquisition for them. Plus, the team is already so dysfunctional so he'd fit right in.

This isn't the NFL. Teams don't trade top five picks unless it's a crap draft pool (or unintentionally in trades they expect to improve them). No one would deal a top five pick this year for a couple of late lottery picks.

Kidd is barely holding off a mutiny now, and you want to add a guy that has no interest in playing basketball? From a talent perspective, sure but considering his attitude problems its just adding fuel to a very large fire.

The risk-reward calculation is right, though -- the future is now in Brooklyn, they need to do something to compete with Miami and Indiana, and they don't have any obvious assets to trade.
Sure, Miami is Bynum's most likely destination, but if the Nets can sign him for the minimum, they should be all over it.
Assuming someone can be a tower while playing in a wheel chair.Brickowski said:Miami could have the twin towers: Andrew Bynum and Greg Oden.

But where is the reward with Bynum? I know he has plenty of talent but he looked putrid this year and missed the last year he missed the whole season because he was allergic to the gym. If I had to put a # on it, I would say there is a 5% chance he could actually contribute this year if they signed him, and there is a 60% chance KG pulls a BBD pep talk when he isnt putting an effort in and makes him cry on the bench
