I know they played awfully poorly this season, but I don't know enough about hockey to make that much of an informed observation or opinion.  All I know is that this team was consistently one of the best in hockey for about a 4-year period.  Yeah, they sucked this year.  But compare them to two other dominant teams:  LA and Chicago.
 
LA
08-09:  79 pts, missed playoffs
09-10:  101 pts, lost in conference quarters (first round)
10-11:  98 pts, lost in conference quarters (first round)
11-12:  95 pts, won Stanley Cup
12-13:  59 pts, lost in conference finals (abbreviated year; on pace for 100 pts)

I'd say that's a pretty nice run for the Bruins.  I think they're allowed one bad year.  But maybe they are losing their touch.  Who knows?

The only upside here is I think Ottawa will wax the floor with the Canadiens.   What a sad fucking day it is when that's the best you've got.

Did anyone point out the dick move by the Lightning of putting on the playoff decals for this game? Because that was a dick move.

Also, Go Jets Go...the NHL ones.

Whoever is the GM come June, I'd want them to explore trading him pretty seriously. He's just not going to be worth the extra salary and cap hit.

Curious to see if we get any dirty laundry aired in the post mortem. Looking back at things, I think there's been a Chiarelli/Julien riff all year. No idea if either are back, and I assume they go out graciously if they're both gone, but I'd love to know the behind-the-scenes.

Beers hinted at that yesterday on the Sports Hub. Wouldn't surprise me and would explain a lot. If that's the case then one of them has to go.

I'd guess it's Claude being unhappy with Chia rather than vice versa.

I remember sometime back in January, Claude made a really out of character comment. They were shutting Griffith back and forth pre-Pastrnak arrival, and someone asked Claude about it a Griffith scrath/demotion and his answer was "You'll have to ask management about that." I thought it was weird, but shrugged it off at the time, but in hind sight there might've been more than meets the eye.
