Oh look, it’s the artists formerly known as the Whale.
Keep it rolling...
I believe the Canes will be wearing their Whale throwbacks tonight.
Wanna see the hottest team in hockey live and in color? Drop me a note...
You have AZ tickets? I kid but found it interesting AZ has the current longest winning streak in the NHL, not to be confused with point streak as we all know who owns that. I don't think I can name 5 Coyotes, does Shane Doan still play for them?
They are, which will give Jack Edwards the chance to lose his mind about Dougie Hamilton wearing Pie McKenzie's retired number again.
It's been too long since there was a Bruins hockey game. I'm glad they are playing tonight, finally.
Would be great if they did a segment on the Glen Wesley trade that is still paying dividends for the Bruins today (Kuraly, Zboril, Frederic can all be traced back).
It actually goes back to the Barry Pederson trade. He went to Vancouver for the draft pick to choose Wesley and some other RW who wasn't too bad.
I think someone taped a "6" over the "1" of the 19 in his last practice, but can't find the picture now. Pretty sure that was a nod to the Jack Edwards' criticism.
The Canes are doing a great job of trolling the old school hockey guys. Jack with the number rant. The celebrations that pisses off guys like Burke and Grapes to no end. That produced the “ bunch of jerks” comment and subsequent apparel line.
(*whispers* I kinda agree with Jack on this particular topic.)
I'm curious to see how this game plays out. As the lone Canes fan on this board the Hurricanes have been playing really well as of late. And their two headed normally backup goalies now magically starting goalies have been pretty terrific. The goalie stole that last game against Florida. The Bruins are absolutely the kind-of top tier team for the Hurricanes to measure themselves against.
They are playing very well and worth watching
Love home whites
Can't the B's wear their dark unis, too? Is anyone watching this on a black and white TV and needs the contrast?
These spoked whale jerseys... ugh
What happened here?
Clavicle was my guess.
Man he got blown up
Looks like dislocated shoulder to me. He wasn’t moving that left arm at all.
This could get ugly real fast
Yeah run around and hit em, give up scoring chances, it’s fine
Man, that was a good, clean hit. It's too bad it's getting ugly afterward.
Backes likes concussions?
I wish Kevan Miller was on the ice.
This is where they miss Miller. Backes is the defacto enforcer.
This is stupid.
Wait what happened to the original penalty? The ref had his arm up for the guy running over McAvoy.
That’s what I saw but they aren’t playing a replay in the building
Yeah, you're probably right. I just don't want to see anyone else get hurt over stupid shit.
Edit: And if another team started acting like that after the Bruins hit a guy cleanly, I would be pretty pissed.
Carlo with 4 SOG in 5 minutes. Has to be a personal best.
The new Backes: Would be interesting to know what was said in his meeting with Butch.
I missed everything up until the Acciari hit on Niederreiter. Totally clean because of the spin immediately prior to the hit. Backes I think ran out of oomph in his last fight and didn't do a good job there. Who did I miss getting injured?
Terrible over commitment from Marchand, totally left his man at the point open just to get a hit in.
Great penalty to take there jesus christ
That was a selfish one.
Yep, this game's gonna get rough.
Johannsson, looked like a shoulder/collarbone
Yeah it looks like a shoulder to me as well. Hopefully he can return for the first round. Dislocated shoulder is like a minimum of 6 weeks out.
Wow that’s a fuckin bad call
Dougie might be lucky that shot after the whistle hit his own teammate, with the way this game is going.
Very nice pk's for the B's
Yeah he got back to the Canes bench in a hurry
Nah. 2 dumb penalties but they’ve been good otherwise.
Especially given the penalty distribution not a bad effort. Only quibble is Jaro’s weak rebound on an initial glove save leading to the chance for de Haan’s goal
