The New England Patriots have been hit hard by injuries of late, but this could be their biggest blow yet. According to CSN New England , Patriots quarterback Tom Brady suffered a "significant" ankle injury at some point during the 37-22 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Two sources told CSNNE.com's Tom Curran that Brady had to be heavily treated just to play Sunday against the Bills, having had his ankle rolled up upon during Friday's practice. He was listed as questionable following that practice prior to the Week 6 game. Brady appears to have aggravated the same ankle in the game, although his gaudy stats — 27-of-37 passing for 361 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions — didn't reflect any pain he might have been playing through. The Patriots have a short week to get Brady healthy. They host the New York Jets on Thursday night, and if Brady can't go, it will be rookie backup Jimmy Garoppolo who gets the start in his place. Garoppolo saw his first extended NFL action in the Patriots' Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, completing 6-of-7 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown pass in mop-up duty. - - - -
