most likely the 8 seed would be a much lower ranked team. If they go with Big 5 conference champs, the highest non-Big 5 champ, and two at-large, the two at-large teams would likely be in the 4 to 7 range. The at-large teams would almost certainly be ranked higher than at least one team that won their conference.

Hasn't this been an SEC issue for a long time? Since their D's were the big dogs combined with strong running games, the QBs never got much notice. I think this is changing, but I from what I recall this is argued why the top QB recruits don't necessarily go there.
