Yesterday was a marvelous day for the three major Boston sports teams that competed, all of whom had very convincing victories. Today (tonight) only the Red Sox are representing, and they need to continue dispelling the can’t win at home boolsheet. Win the game, win the series and continue to put last place in the rear view mirror.

OK, that was fun yesterday. But why do we have wait until after 7 to see a Sunday game?
ESPN, of course. Ugh. Do not like, as a general rule.
Geaux, Sox!

The Red Sox announced this morning that the club has recalled right-hander Naoyuki Uwasawa, whose first appearance with Boston will be his big league debut. Left-hander Joely Rodriguez was designated for assignment to make room for Uwasawa on the club’s active roster.

Joely, we hardly knew ye. The White Sox and Marlins need help, have a great career.

That BRef page linked above makes it very clear how one should pronounce his name, so no excuses, OB and M'brooks.
What an innocent-looking face. Cute.
So, the Rays let him go after Spring Training?

He opted out. He signed a minor league deal with the Rays that included a clause that allowed him to opt-out if he wasn't going to be added to the 40-man roster by Opening Day, similar to what Joely and CJ Cron had here. The difference between them is that Joely and Cron don't have options so to add them meant they had to make the 26-man roster (so Cron was released). Uwasawa did have options so he was added to the 40-man but not the 26-man (until today).

These ESPN graphics are the best
Their narrative about the "ballpark" being the likely star attraction of the season shortchanges and ignores a lot of the positive signs the current squad has displayed thus far. I suspect I switch the Red Sox radio soon.

The "cursebusters" thing is pretty lame too. It's been 8 years since the Cubs broke their "curse" and 20 since the Sox broke theirs. At what point do we move on and just treat these teams just like every other storied franchise in the league?

Jesus. They got this ump mic’d up or what. He sounds like the ump from Bo Jackson baseball.
