When Andrew Luck entered the league in the 2012, the Patriots were coming off a Super Bowl loss to the Giants. The Colts had just "sucked for Luck", gotten their man, and would embark on a terrific three-year run to start his career, going 11-5 each of his first three seasons, with Luck making the pro bowl each time. The Pats had a rough go of it in 2010 and 2011 in the playoffs, and entered the 2012 season with a lot of doubts, and Tom Brady was 35 years of age.
Who would have imagined that in the next 7 years, the Colts would never beat the Patriots, would never get to a Super Bowl, and Luck would retire, while the Patriots would go to 7 straight AFC Championship games, go to 4 Super Bowls, win 3 of them, and that Brady would enter the 2019 season at age 42 and looking as good as ever?
It's just incredible.
