Between here and everywhere.
Patrice Bergeron deserves to be in the All-Star Game.

The All-Star Game does not deserve Patrice Bergeron.

There was just a 3 on 0, and whoever it was didn't even get a shot off. Bruins esque.

This is tough to watch. Including the jerseys.

It is beyond pathetic. If I was a goalie, I would say for the amount of effort you players are giving on defence you might as well play without a goalie and just turn the nets backwards. I remember when there was actual effort in these games back when the all stars played the Stanley Cup winners. There is no point in this game now. It is less than pond hockey.

I tuned in but had to turn it off within five minutes. Just awful.
I have it on but I'm not watching, it's more background noise. I hear a goal every 4.3 seconds.

Bergeron with a goal and 4 assists.

Voracek will probably get MVP honors with 3g 2a barring Bergy potting another one or two.

Tavares with 4 goals has a shot as well.

They really need to go to a format of 91's and 93's one one side (forwards) and everyone else on the other.
They need to do something. That wasn't exactly must-see tv. I get that it's hard to get the players to put in a ton of effort and risk injury in an exhibition and potentially cost themselves real dollars (or injure ANOTHER player and cost them money) but it's boring. The skills comp is fun enough but the game needs help. They need to start by getting a guest entertainer as an announcer- you can't announce this game as if it is a standard hockey game. NHL all stars vs some other team that might be inclined to try vs a pro team going half-fast? Also, have a legends game.

They tried the draft idea to generate buzz, and while it's a fun idea (though extremely stale as an actual event and needs a lot of help) it doesn't help, the actual game any which is a snorefest.

That was awful. I used to really dig the ASG, I've been to 2, and I think you draw the line between good games and mockeries at the game in Pitt when everybody stood around and watched Mario do his Globetrotter on Ice routine.

If there wasn't 10 too many teams in the league you could go back to Champs vs. All Stars, but barring that maybe Canada vs. World or something (and I know they did that before too) might be a thought.

KHL ASG was also today, wonder if it was any better? Erik Gustafsson made it...just in case anybody claims the K is close to the NHL and you want some ammo to mock them with.

I didn't watch a second of any of the festivites over the weekend, but it sounds like a typical ASG. Lazy game where the players dont give a shit, and half of those chosen bagged out anyways. There's no easy way to make the game competitive. It'll be dumb if they have home-ice on the line. Minor note-Crosby and the rest of the guys who bagged out with minor ailments should have to sit at least 1 regular game. The league "suspended" Datsyuk and Lidstrom for skipping the ASG out a few years ago.

I say either scrap the whole thing, and use this World Cup in its place. Or if they insist on keeping the ASG, put it outdoors in Vegas or something. The game would still suck but at least spending a weekend in Vegas would attract more players and fans than a weekend in Columbus. Plus it is an opportunity to grow the game in a market the league is apparently hell bend on expanding to.
