This is where I am. This team needs a new direction. It's stagnant as it is and needs a roster overhaul. Hopefully, the new GM can bring his own coach. If Ainge leaves, you bring in someone fresh from outside the organization, and let that person pick the coach. Whatever is going on with that team, it isn’t working with the current mix.
Toronto's future is very murky with Giannis off the market and Sialam stalled. The degree to which ownership wants Ainge to look around probably determines whether it is Zarren or not, right?
If Ainge just wants a change but ownership is generally happy it will be Zarren
If ownership is pushing Ainge out (even if only partially) then there's a real question if they want Zarren. Hard to know whether (behind the scenes) he's been suggesting different things and/or has built a back channel to ownership or not. He might be seen by ownership as a course correction, or he might be seen as part of the old guard. Just no real intel on that which I've seen---Simmons is likely a good source on this if he'll talk on his pod.
I struggle to see why Ujiri would leave Toronto, but Celts ownership has a good rep and having Tatum/Brown in place is more than Toronto has so would love to see that. But I don't expect it
Agreed. I had not realized---others may have---that Ujiri's contract there is up. So he is indeed a very real possibility if they look outside. I'd still guess it is Zarren, but having Ujiri as a FA does change the odds for me.Toronto's future is very murky with Giannis off the market and Sialam stalled.
Executing a great trade and turning those picks into potentially great players isn't luck though.Yeah, that Danny Ainge sure had some bad luck getting Brown and Tatum for the corpse of KG and PP. Any bad luck Ainge may have had was cancelled out by his good luck.
I'm also glad to see him step aside. I don't think firing him would have been out of the question. It does make me wonder about CBS future with the team.
Or it could mean Brad Belichick...Going with someone outside the organization could very well mean bye bye Brad.
Yeah, they aren’t firing Ainge to bring in someone who worked with him. It will be a fresh face and a new approach. That guy won’t be tied to any of Ainge’s recent draft picks so a huge shakeup will be a coming. If I'm the Celtics, I'm going with someone outside the organization with fresh thinking. Malik Rose would be interesting.
They already picked and how wrong we all were.Yeah, they aren’t firing Ainge to bring in someone who worked with him. It will be a fresh face and a new approach. That guy won’t be tied to any of Ainge’s recent draft picks so a huge shakeup will be a coming.
Ainge picking Brown is nothing about luck. I'm pretty sure I was one of maybe 2, 3 at most, people on here wanting him.Yeah, that Danny Ainge sure had some bad luck getting Brown and Tatum for the corpse of KG and PP. Any bad luck Ainge may have had was cancelled out by his good luck.

Most of the mocks had us drafting Jaylen Brown and people on here being sad about it. The evaluators were right. SoSH was wrong.Ainge picking Brown is nothing about luck. I'm pretty sure I was one of maybe 2, 3 at most, people on here wanting him.
WHAT THE FUCK
